My friend, Gary LANE of Atlanta, has given me a pretty good profile of
his LANE bunch and they were in a similar type business but on a high scale.
I am pretty sure that Gary is related to me through the LANES. His mother
was a BRYAN and his grandmother, a GRAY, as I remember and these two names
blend well with my bunch.
Gary also told me that TR stayed with his LANE bunch on one of his trips
to GA and even went hunting with them. Remember, TR's mother was a Georgia
girl, a Martha BULLOCH, from Roswell, GA and this was probably on that same
trip, ABT 1905, as I remember.
There are a lot of ties between the folks in Roswell, GA and those in
Madison, Morgan County, GA. I am still waiting to see a copy of Gary's
genealogy that was done by some fellow up in NY. When I see that, I will
have a much better idea about his family. However, Gary says the picture of
my GGF, Robert W. DANIEL, could pass for his brother is a pretty good
indication there is a family relationship. I also think that Gary's bunch
was from down around Macon, somewhere, or at least below Atlanta. He is a
postmaster and his wife, a doctor.

John, if you want to find a goldmine of LANE's try around Ft.
Georgia. Duke LANE was head of the group when I was working peaches back
in the 50's.
