Your John Jr and Nancy Mathis marriage is interesting. This is a little
late for my David Daniel and Nancy. They started having children c.
1831. Wonder who this other Nancy Mathis is?

Do you have any pictures of your early DANIELS? I know of the
DANIEL bunch in LaGrange and I have always thought there was a strong
possibility they were related to mine because they fit the physical

BTW, I have most of the marriage records for Morgan. In addition
to what I do around here, I am the US Genweb CC for Morgan County, GA,
as well as the List Administrator for Morgan.
These are the LANE marriage for Morgan County, GA
Lane, Dawson B. married Stallings, Martha Ann on August17, 1836
Lane, Dawson B. married Whiting, Mariah L on July15, 1858
Lane, Henry married Hubbard, Mary on August 21, 1836
Lane, John DR married Sims, Mary R on September 20, 1832
Lane, Joseph J. married Grant, Frances E on September91847
As for DANIEL marriages. I ahve these.
Daniel, Asbury married Randle, Susan on September 22, 1830
Daniel, Elisha married Daniel Mrs. Sarah on December 7, 1843
Daniel, Frederick married Chapman, Mrs. Prudence on January 7,1830
Daniel Jr. James married Autrey Jane on February 17, 1836
Daniel James W. married Cotton, Laney on March 19, 1843
Daniel Jr. John married Mathis, Nancy on November 2, 1842
Daniel, John M married Durdin, Sally (Sarah) December 27, 1827
Dannelly, Francis O married Marshall, Elizabeth O on September 4,1862
Note: That John DANIEL may well be the John DANIEL I have born 1801.
He died in 1867 without heirs and his will stated that heirs would
probably come forward and my grandmother ended up owing land once
owned by John DURDEN. I never have been able to find out who Sally
DURDEN's parents were but if they were John DURDEN of Morgan County,
this would account for why my GM, Alice DANIEL, bailed out John DURDEN
when he went bankrupt in 1873. Regardless, Alice ended up owning land
DURDEN once owned and she did not buy it because their is no entry for
her in the Grantor-Grantee Index for Morgan County, GA, which means
she inherited it.
