Hello John -
I, too, would like to see some DNA from my Isham Daniel line, but I do not have contact
with anyone that would be a prospect. This Isham had two sons for certain and maybe a
third, however the only one that I have any information on is Eugene Daniel who married
Susannah "Shannie" Tweed Witherspoon. Eugene had only one son, John Witherspoon
Daniel, b. 15 Oct 1889, d. 1941. John Witherspoon Daniel had only one son, John
Witherspoon Daniel, Jr., b. 20 Jun 1910, d. 1988 in Savannah, GA. I do not know whether
John W. Daniel, Jr. even married or had any children.
I have not as of yet been able to connect my Isham John Daniel to the Heard County, GA
bunch. But I keep on trying, as that seems to be the logical place to look, since they had
quite a few Ishams. My Isham John Daniel (3G grandfather) was born about 1829 in Sumter
Co., AL, married on 30 Mar 1848 in Sumter Co., AL to Mary Ann Rainey, b. about 1830 in GA.
The other names in my Daniel family have given me no other clues. There is Eugene A., Mary
Ann (named after wife), Mattie A., and Charlie B. Then Eugene named his children: Mary
(Mamie), Elizabeth (named after his wife's mother), Henrietta (named after wife's
brother), John Witherspoon (named his wife's father), Roberta M. & Nancy
"Shan" (named somewhat after his wife).
The names you mentioned, Bolling and Weldon, do not show up in my Daniel line that I know
of, unless the "B." in Charlie B. stands for Bolling, but then again for all I
know it could stand for Browne, (Charlie Browne Daniel, hmmm has a familiar comic ring to
Does anyone out there on the Daniel list have any definitive handle on the Littleton
Daniel line? I have seen his birthdate listed as both 1785 and 1758. Could there have been
two of them? Father and son? Or is this just a transposition error?
