Thanks again. I went back to my chart and removed the confusing "Daniel Rogers"
and his father. And, just like that, no Puritans in my line! Ha ha. I found other names
for Roger Daniel's parents that make a lot more sense. My folks in Lee County, Va,
besides being strongly evangelical are also largely Baptist. If my line ever had
Anglicanism or any sort of high ritual Christianity, it abandoned it long ago. It's
interesting to learn that many of them in the South became Baptists.
I have a lot to research, but I am glad that faulty link is gone in my chart, because it
made no sense. And, since Daniel Rogers was prominent enough to have some history written
about him, it seems like that history would have included why his son switched his names
It's clear that a lot of people create false lineages based on wishful thinking and
what others have already done. That's definitely how I ended up accepting the Daniel
Rogers / Roger Daniel piece. I am learning to be more careful, but it's so much fun to
"plug in" ancestors based on what Ancestry.com
You have a great weekend!
