Tina, I'm answering the original post, the poster may have since found all this. All
the docs I refer to here are available at familysearch.org
The children build and match across all these census records:
1870 census of S. Daniels in Hickman shows wife Martha, but it looks like she's the
3rd wf. Son William Daniels is age 20. Samuel M. Daniel had md. Martha A Fry on 9 February
1862 in Maury.
1860 census in Hickman shows this is Samuel M. Daniels, no wife here, son Wm C. Daniels is
1850 census S. M. and Mary Daniel are in Maury, but looks like she's the 2nd wf.
Samuel M. Daniel had md. Mary Baker in Maury on 6 June 1849.
The oldest child in 1850 was 7 years old. A Samuel M. Daniel md. Jane J. Wade on 1 Mar
1842 in neighboring county of Williamson.
Samuel and Martha are in 1880 Maury, but I don't see him in 1900 (very quick check,
not guaranteeing it). In 1850-1870 it says Samuel b. TN, but 1880 says NC, so he could be
born in those crossover counties, e.g. Blount, Sevier, Cocke in TN, Haywood in NC among
Old IGI entries call him Samuel Monroe Daniel and claim that first child (Reuhama or some
such) as s/o him and Martha or Neoma Jane Wade. Old ancestral files there also show the
above three wives for this guy. I don't see any current gedcoms on worldconnect about
this Samuel Daniel.
Just some quick hunting, good luck in the search,
Pam in CA
