My TRACEABLE Daniel line is as follows:
Jane H. Brown, b. 1946, Kingsville Kleberg Co., TX
James Harvey Hayes, b. 1908, Hill Co., TX, d. 1977, Kleberg Co., TX
Sarah Jane Daniel, b. 1874, Cannon Co., TN, died 1964 Kleberg Co., TX
John C. Daniel, b. 1844, Granville Co., NC, moved to Cannon Co., TN,
Mitchell Daniel, b. 1802 , Granville Co., NC., last noted in 1880
census for Cannon Co.., TN
Mitchell Daniel stated in census that his father was born in VA.
Mitchell Daniel married Sarah Cook Lemay, daughter of Richard Ussery
Lemary and his first wife, Elizabeth Cook. Lemay family researchers
say that Sarah married 'the son of a neighbor". With that as a clue,
and with lots of help from researchers on this list, I THINK that my
Mitchell was probably the son of Willis/William Daniel and his wife,
Jemima Crews. Maybe . :) But Mitchell has been a solid brick wall,
up to now.
My ggrandfather, John C. Daniel, and his wife, Nancy Ann Lance, had
at least 8 and possibly 10 children:
Sarah Jane, my grandmother
Robert Jasper, married Josie Wood
Mary Ellen -- the Lance family data says she didn't marry
Tennessee -- she MAY have married a GW Harrell
Carus/Cairus -- appears only on the 1880 census
James Mitchell -- died in infancy
Roxannah Myrtle -- did not marry, re Lance info
Robert -- this one was born in 1880
The lance data lists an undocumented chld -- A. B. -- no name or date
When I was a child, I knew my grandmother's brother, Joihn. He must
have been born after 1880 census.
John's first wife, Nancy Lance, died in 1884, He married Eliza
BRAXTON in 1888. I've not found any trace of her after the record of
their marriage. It is possible that the child A. B. and my Uncle
John were her children.
I would love to find other researchers who are interested in these
