I am going to post this to see if anyone can recognize anything about
this information. A fellow research contacted a researcher from our line
and stated what he had found.
Robert Nave, who is doing research on the Philemon Lacy line, found a
marriage of Edward Daniel (Dannel) in Shenandoah, VA. Source: Shenandoah
County Marriage Bonds 1772-1850 by John Vogt & T. William Kethley, Jr. c
1984, p. 78.
There was no bondsman listed.
I believe Edward's last name could have been spelled Dannel in this
Edward Dannel married Ann Hopkins, 26 Dec 1772 - No other Daniel or
Dannel were listed in this record.
The Hopkins and Lacy families were associated and intermarried in early
VA. The Hopkins family of Sullivan, TN, came from Patrick, VA.
There was also a Philemon Lacy and John Dannel who signed a petition in
Yohogania, VA in 1778. This is not our Philemon who married Esther
Daniel because they were in Guilford, NC (Rockingham, NC) by 1776, but I
am sure they are related.
This could be my Edward married to Anna (Ann). Many say that his sister,
Esther, was born in the Augusta, Yohogania, area. This would fit into
that area and time frame very nicely. Thoughts?
