Pam,
Thanks for all of this hard work. I know the list thanks you, too. I
assume you also checked for the spelling, DANIELL, too. Mine were DANIELL
when the got to Burke County, GA in 1812 and stayed that way until ABT
1850, more or less.

Subject: [DANIEL-L] some Wayne Co probate data
Hi, Diane and all in this thread,
Contents: a useless intro, a question, and some data.
Useless intro: I was on a quick hit and run in Salt Lake when this John
of Northampton thread was going on, watching but couldn't quite figure
what might be a good set of records to check on that might help or be of
interest, but was doing a couple Wayne County probate films to finish
some old research. It doesn't help on the older generations in the
thread (Diane's already got those wired anyway), but it has some later
folks' info for fine tuning, etc.
Question: Diane and others, in your Northampton records do you have any
loose unidentified William Daniel, there shortly before 1768, gone by
about 1784-85? I'd sure appreciate hearing about him if you do.
Later,
Pam in CA
So, this data is from films 2367242 (Daniel, A-Nancy) and 2367239
(Daniel, Nathan-Z) of Wayne County estate papers. I was just there for
one thing, took all names but only took notes on early ones: did ok as
far as getting heirs, but wasn't trying for full abstracts so there are
plenty of side names I didn't get. Drooled at all the gorgeous plats -
if there's a descendant of these people out there they have some
treasure docs to get from these films.

Anne,
Look at my file on Ephraim and you will see even more deeds, wills, etc.,
and full source citations. You also can link to John, II and Sarah, all
of
Sarah's family, all of John and Sarah's children and their spouses and the
spouses' families where known. You will see that son John Daniel sold
land
to several of his brothers in Dobbs/Wayne over the years. John did not
leave a will that I have found, as did brothers Isaac and Ephraim, but
based
on the documents I have found, I firmly believe that John (the executor of
his father's will) stayed in Wayne County and died there.

EPHRAIM DANIEL (son of JOHN DANIEL and Sarah Dickinson, Northampton Co.,
NC)
b. ca.1742, Northampton Co., d. ca. 1800, Wayne (Dobbs), NC
Looks like some of his mother Sarah's people went along with him - per
Gedcom below. Has Wills, deeds, sources, etc.
Please note the 1785 Wayne Co. Deed to Ephraim from John Daniel - brother
John went to Dobbs/Wayne also?? Then deeded land to Ephraim, and moved
on, maybe??
