Something that really got my attention was the combinations of names near or
on deeds with Isham LANE and William Daniel of Wayne. It may be O'Daniel
instead of Daniel, regardless of what our DNA says. I have known for a long
time that Isham LANE was probably from Duplin County, NC. I also knew that
Federick O'Daniel and Charoty Whitfield were from Duplin. Guess who they
had b. 1755? - A William O'Daniel who married an Elizabeth Herring in 1793.
This accounts for the fact that Robert C. Daniel was reasonably comfortable,
money wise. Any family tied to the Whitfields was reasonably comfortable,
especially as they were also tied to the Bryans and Lucy LANE, Isham's wife,
was a Bryan descendant. Just a thought, anyway.
