I am looking for more information on the DANIEL family with roots in Halifax County, NC.
My g-g-g-grandmother was Pamilla DANIEL (b. 1804, Halifax County, NC) who was married to
my g-g-g-grandfather John B. Qualls.
Records indicate that she lived with John and Hannah CORLEW, but she does not have the
same last name which would indicate she is another relative, or daughter of a former
servant. By deductive reasoning, she would not have been of African descent as John B.
Qualls, and his son Jesse B. Qualls (g-g-grandfather) are enumerated as "White"
on all Census records. This leads me to believe she was either a relative, an
Indian/White daughter of a servant, or John B. Qualls daughter by one of his servants.
If anyone has any information on the DANIEL Family origins from Halifax County, NC please
feel free to contact me. I would love to learn more, share our stories, and figure out if
we are related.
