My Daniel cousin has a very rare haplogroup and unfortunately has no
yDNA matches, at any level.
To answer the question about biological connections to Donald,
MacDonald, MacDaniel, etc., I suggest that those of you who have done
yDNA testing look at your matches and tell the list members how many of
you have matches with those men who actually have the surnames in question.
I do not believe my Daniel ancestors had either Irish or Scots
ancestors. Their yDNA haplogroup is T, which indicates origins in
Northern Africa or the Middle East. I think they probably came to North
