Just happened to be researching this fellow today. I'm not related but I believe one
of my distant Huie cousins was briefly married to Tom's son Zack. Also, I've
notice several other Huie/Daniel unions over the years. Anyway here's all I have:

Wounded through the left shoulder at Spotsylvania, VA. 5/10/1864 ; again at Winchester VA.
Elected Captain 12/5/1864.
Captured at Fort Steadman, VA. 3/25/1865.
Released at Fort Delaware DEL. 6/17 1865.
Born 10/6/1833 in GA. Died in Clayton Co. GA.
William C. Daniel, Private Company D, 44th Georgia Infantry.
Captured at Mechanicsville VA. 5/30/1864 and paroled at Elmira N.Y. - exchanged
Died in Clayton Co. GA.
I actually found the war records before the early census records and I was thinking that
William C Daniel, above, might be Tom's brother since they joined the same regiment.
The 1850 records indicate this might be so since it included a W C Daniel born c1838.

For my part, I'd appreciate anything you might have on Zack Fort Daniel, and can you
confirm or deny that he was briefly married to Anna Davis Huie?
