It appears that one William Daniel (1782 to 1840) is actually William Jeremiah Daniel born
1782 - 1840 in Montgomery, Buncombe Co., NC. He married Sara Self born 1781 0r 1782 In
Buncombe NC. William Thomas Daniel son of William J. Daniel was born 1814 in Georgia and
died in 1905 and I believe he married Mary Rutherford.
So we are still looking for the father of William Daniel born 1799 supposedly in North
Carolina later moving on to Hampton County, Tennessee and marrying one Susan Harris. That
union produced our James W. Daniel.
>> William also married a Jane Haney and had several issue
I am sure that if I have wandered to far into fantasy land someone will correct me. And
thanks Mike for your input and encouragement. Kevin has invited me to help produce any
records that may support my Ambrose Daniel as a descendant of William of Caroline. That
should be entertaining?

Just for kicks who is the character? William Daniel, born 1782 in Montgomery Co., NC,
and married Sarah Self. I feel I should know this but the old gray cells ain’t what they
used to be. He could be a William Thomas Daniel?

if I may continue a little farther, he ended up in Van Buren County, AR as enumerated in
the 1850 census. He was granted land in that county but eventually ended up in White
County, AR with land in that county also. I have yet to find him in the 1860 census,
however. He died approximately 3 Dec 1865 per probate records in White County, AR."
Thanks for all of the help!

provable James W. Daniel who was born in Humphries County, TN,. on 31 Jan 1826. William
also married a Jane Haney and had several issue.

>> So where in NC did William Daniel come from and by whom? The are Williams born
about 1799 but they don’t match the James W. Daniel connection? My guess would be
Granville Co., NC, but that search hits a brick wall.

far have not disputed my connection to William of Caroline?
