A correction to my earlier request for assistance:
"If I may make a correction, William moved to Humphreys, TN, not Hampton. And if I
may continue a little farther, he ended up in Van Buren County, AR as enumerated in the
1850 census. He was granted land in that county but eventually ended up in White County,
AR with land in that county also. I have yet to find him in the 1860 census, however. He
died approximately 3 Dec 1865 per probate records in White County, AR." Thanks for
all of the help!

also married a Jane Haney and had several issue.
So where in NC did William Daniel come from and by whom? The are Williams born about
1799 but they don’t match the James W. Daniel connection? My guess would be Granville
Co., NC, but that search hits a brick wall.
Mike is also looking at this but we do need all the brain power that is left in the
Daniel-List. Also, are we all giving Kevin some help with the DNA connections that so far
have not disputed my connection to William of Caroline?
The fun goes on and the young should be encouraged to take an interest in our
