Please do visit our Daniel DNA project webpage at:
We have at this point four participants who descend from four separate sons of Robert C.
Daniel (1791-1870) who is buried there on Daniel Hollow in what is now Moore Co (formerly
Bedford Co) Tennessee.
We also have a participant who descends from Plummer Daniel who is buried in Wayne Co
Tennessee. Cousin Faron Daniel is a DNA match with the four descendants of R.C. Daniel.
We do have two fairly recent matches from folks who track their roots back to Georgia, but
they have not really provided us enough information to place them on our family tree.
Probably they are related back further than Robert & Plummer, hence the renewed
interest in tracking down the parents of Robert & Plummer.
I'm not going to belabor the question of who the father of Robert C. Daniel really
was. We do know that he is related to Plummer Daniel. I'm willing to provide as much
information as I have to any cousins looking for the truth, but at this point, after many
years of looking into this, it is my belief that Hiram Daniel (the elder b. circa 1770 d.
1821 Rhea Co Tenn) is the father of Robert C. & Plummer.
One note: Robert C. named his first son Hiram B. Daniel (b. 1813 d. after 1880).
That's Cousin Toby's line in our DNA test. A natural assumption might be that
Robert named his first son after his father, Hiram the elder.
By the way, my ancestor and Bible-proven son of Robert C. & Nancy Kimsey Daniel,
H.P.K. Daniel moved from Tennessee to Mississippi in 1851 where my grandfather and father
were born. Our particular branch of the family only moved to Texas in the 1920's.
Fort Worth, Texas
