I'm a long time (2003) DNA participant. The whole project has meant a lot to
our family history. We now have seven rather distant cousins, five of whom
we can hang on our family tree about two hundred years ago and two we are
still working on, but we are making progress.
Within our little group of seven, we have two folks whose email is either
invalid or not answered. I'm sure this is common to all. Fortunately I've
kept track of these folks and have contacted them by phone. Still, they have
not updated their info. I think this is probably a widespread problem. Email
address change, folks pass on, time passes...
I would encourage every DNA participant to go to their private login page,
click on Contact Information, and update your information. Don't be afraid
that this will be shown to the general public, but it will give your matches
a means of contacting you by email.
Best Wishes to all on our project, and many thanks to Kevin for all his hard
A few notes here: I am not the admin of the Daniel DNA project, just a long
time participant. Kevin Daniel is the admin but even he cannot see your
password. This is a multi-layered attempt to protect participant privacy.
Bottom line is that leaves a lot of responsibility up to the participants.
