Berlene, I don't have an answer for your question about cousins. I am but a novice
wondering in the wilderness of the DNA Project. The "heavy hitters" may join in
some day and help us out.
The following is an interesting comment from Tina. Was Basil's assignment to Josiah
just speculation. If so, where and does he show up in the Edward Daniel family?
"WHERE WAS BASIL DANIEL in 1790, 1800, 1810 if his brother BARTON DANIEL is then on
the Montgomery Co. NC Census's. Seemed odd if they are brothers and Basil Daniel b.
abt. 1770-1775 that he too wouldn't be near Barton Daniel in the 1790, 1800 and 1810
census of Montgomery Co. NC ? Could they then be cousins instead of brothers. Until
you do the full 67 DNA MARKERS TESTING the lines of both, BASIL DANIEL and BARTON DANIEL
you may not see the full DNA picture, as they could still be close marker matches but
cousins instead of Brothers."
There was some mention in the Edward Daniel records that a John may have been his brother
or father? (the on line reference for this comment is no longer available) Who do you
believe were the brothers and sisters of Edward other than Easter and is John Daniel of
Orange Co a candidate to be Edwards daddy? I actually don't buy this connection until
I recheck the sources in Dottie's book. "Edward to Edward" a Daniels Family
I am still at a loss about which William married Sarah Self and who his exact parents
were? It may be Josiah or is it a William Daniel, wife unknown, who is listed with a
different set of kids.
I no longer have a problem about our subjects DNA matches, like Woodrow, Joe and Levi
et'all, but I do not see a family connection between Basil and Edward yet and that was
my original goal.
Thanks for the help, all of you.
