Afternoon Jack, Actually this line up is a composite of the work of Mrs.
Christine Gee and Dr. James E. Daniel of SC; and Heinemann. The line for
William the Elder of Caroline County is pretty well fixed but the two James
have been confused. One source assigns Nancy Broadus to the first James (4)
but there has been no wife proved for this assertion. Since the second James
(5) and wife (Nancy Broadus) had a son Andrew Broadus Daniel I assigned Nancy
to this James.
Note from "Under the Unicorn - the Daniel Family" - One source says Nancy
Broadus is probably wife of this James.(4) Charles Heinemann (1949) says
Nancy Broadus wife of son James. (5) Since issue of son James has the name
Andrew Broadus Daniel I will put Nancy with son James. The data on Son James
and father James is similar which brings on the confusion.
James Daniel (4) He was a Captain in the War of 1812, in Kentucky.
According to Marriage Index: KY, NC, TN, VA, WV, 1728-1850, James Daniel
Married Nancy Broadus 23 April 1801, in Caroline County, Virginia.
Let me know if you turn up anything new? Payne
