Sheryl, we've had the GAINES name thrown around in our DANIEL family
WITH NO PROOF, but at one point it was shown the Nancy A. ??? married
to our John DANIEL(b 1769) was Nancy A. GAINES, and was supposedly
blind....have NO IDEA WHERE THAT INFO CAME FROM and it's NOT SOURCED.
Just tossing it out to you so you might possibly be able to find a

I am really finding a LOT of holes in the lineups for those
descendants of Captain William Daniel of Middlesex County. It
seems a lot of the families in the 1700's just got discontinued.
Is anyone out there working on them?
The one I posted yesterday, James DANIEL (who married Mary
KILLINGHAM) is the son of James DANIEL and Margaret VIVON. Now,
that's pretty far back, but no one has followed some of these
families forward. I would LOVE some help.
The other one, Josiah DANIEL who married Elizabeth KEY is a
descendant of Robert DANIEL, son of Captain William DANIEL and
probably his first wife. Josiah is said to have left a will in
Granville County, NC in 1811 naming his children, but I find only
one or two of those children have been brought forward.
I'm looking for records in Granville and Warren Counties, NC right
now. In particular, I would love to have the marriage of Peter
DANIEL to Jane MAYFIELD confirmed. It is supposedly abt 1783 in
Warren Co., NC. I'd also love to have any marriages of DANIEL to
GAINES (probably VA-maybe Orange Co.). Anyone have those?
