I thought I would pass this tid bit on to you. This morning when I was
searching the DANIEL Mailing List archives I ran across a listing of a
marriage of a "Lucretia to a William DANIEL." Daniel Researchers have long
known that William DANIEL of Edgefield, SC married Lucretia BELL about 1775
but they did not know exactly where. Now, I think I know -- Dinwiddie
County, VA. HEINEMANN in his Marriages-Part 2, as posted on the DANIEL
Mailing list in 1997, lists a marriage of a "TUCKER, Lucretia to William
DANIEL, C1775, Dinwiddie Co., VA."
Anyone who knows the BELL family knows they were from Sussex County, VA
which is located adjacent to Dinwiddie County, VA and the COLEMAN family
which was collateral with the TUCKER family was also from Dinwiddie and
Appomattox County, VA. Also, the mother of Lucretia BELL was Martha TUCKER,
so this is probably where the TUCKER name comes from in this reference.
This also seems to match what we know about this William DANIEL -- he
was from the Prince George County area of VA, as were the BELLS and the
TUCKERS. Therefore I am updating my records on this William and Lucretia
DANIEL to indicate they were married in Dinwiddie County, VA about 1775.
