Josiah Daniel, born 1784 NC, lived in TN, White and Shelby Counties, IL and Ripley County,
MO. He moved back to Shelby County, IL, before settling in Laclede County, MO. His
children...Jonas(1804 NC), William(1808 TN), Loyd W.(1810), Matilda(1812 ILL), Reuben(1815
ILL), Isaiah(1818 ILL), Son(1823 ILL)) and Daughter(1826 ILL). The 1840 MISSOURI CENSUS,
RIPLEY COUNTY, indicates Josiah Daniel there. Living beside Josiah are son's, William
and his family, Loyd and his family and Reuben and his family. Living in Josiah's
household are his wife, son Isaiah and his wife of 2 1/2 months, a youngest son and a
youngest daughter. Many of Josiah's grandchildren, living in Ripley County, are less
than 5 years old. Josiah Daniel's son's had several children who were born in
Ripley County! Josiah Daniel and son's William, Loyd and Reuben moved back to Shelby
County, IL by 1850. Son Jonas and daughter Matilda still lived in Illinois. Isaiah Daniel
and his wife Julia remained in Ripley Count!

County later . The location of residence did not change. Isaiah Daniel had Loyd W.
Daniel(1840),who died a P.O.W. in 1864, who had James Daniel(1860) and William P.
Daniel(1862). William P., my great grandpa, moved out west in 1935.
