I was wondering if anyone has "claimed" Samuel Daniel of Culpeper
County, VA? This is the Samuel who is mentioned in the following
Revolutionary War pension application:
I am looking at him as a possible son of Elijah and Mary Hawes Daniel
of the counties of Caroline, Orange, Culpeper and back to Caroline. The
will of William Daniel, who was a son of Elijah and Mary Hawes Daniel,
made in 1792 in Wilkes County, GA names brothers Edmund, Samuel and
Jonathan. Edmund Daniel of Spotsylvania County, VA made is son, Reuben,
his attorney in fact to handle the bequest made to him in his brother's
will. Edmund of Spotsylvania County is easily traced to Caroline
County, VA as the executor of the estate of Elijah Daniel.
Among the children of Samuel Daniel of Culpeper County, VA mentioned in
the pension application is son Elijah....
