Evelyn DANIEL Hansson Richmond, KY
I am looking for any information regarding marriages of the surname Daniel between 1820 and 1840 in the Warren, DeKalb, and/or Cannon Counties of Tennessee. There should be both female and male members of the family that I am looking for. Any information regarding Daniel marriages during this period and area will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Evening from Sunny Florida. For those patient folk whose inquiries I am
behind on, I'll be with you very soon. You will recall that I have had
machos trouble with my family software and web page server. I have all new
software, server, and web page assistance. When I imported my "Daniel Master
File" to PAF I received an interesting message. Out of 18,569 individuals
there were 11,569 errors. These merge tags, duplications and repeated notes
were driving me crazy. At least in PAF I can see how to correct my problems.
It also provides indexing and such.

1. Never run a utility program in the background with WFT Maker. You will
be guaranteed a lock up or crash with loss of data. Back in 1998 I was slow
to learn this lesson and very reluctant to change my ways. I have until
recently made the same mistake.
2. Any problems you experience with a family tree program will be, in the
providers view, your fault. They tried to explain to me how identical
individuals will not merge, just duplicate. This sofware is fine for those
who will not put it to the test.
3. There will be duplications and merge tags on my new pages but I am
working to remove them. You will also be able to get around much smoother
with the new setup. http://paynedaniel.com
To my friend "CAT," my Asa does not match yours, sorry. To those who would
like to connect Robert Daniell of SC with Roger Daniell, Jr., of Va., there
is no support for the information found in the WTF Family Information Disk, 6
& 7. Others may add to this position, but until I know better, there is no
connection. It is speculation on my part that the Roger, Roger, Roger, is
the English origin of Roger, Sr., of Warrick Co., Va.
There is no support for the placement of Capt. William Daniel of Middlesex,
Va., in the Daniel family of DeTabley, England. He was not William of Wigan!
It is possible that Robert Daniels of Mass, may be connected to the
Lancashire Daniels, but this ball just kicked around by us wanna knows?
The John Daniel family of Virginia was not the John Daniel of Barbados.
Thomas Daniel of Barbados was not the Thomas Daniel of Tyrrell Co., NC. Was
Ann Daniel the mother of this Thomas? What did Bacon's Rebellion have to do
with the family of
John and Wilbert of Virginia? I am still beating these dead horses!

My name is Judy and I'm new to this list. I have an elusive relative I'm hoping someone will have info on. Her name is Elinore DANIEL, born probably in the 1920's to Estelle GREGORY of MO and Walter N. DANIEL of GA. I know they lived in Phenix City, AL in 1928 when Estelle died. About 1930, Walter and Elinore moved to New Orleans, LA. I can place Elinore in New Orleans in 1965 when Walter died, then I lose track of her. She was not married in 1965 but could have married later.
If anyone has any info on Elinore DANIEL, I'd love to her about it. If you have any suggestions on where to look for her, I'd appreciate hearing those, too.
Thanks for your help.

In reviewing White's Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary
War Pension Applications for Daniel/Daniels I encountered a
startling contrast. Of the 22 Daniel entries, 12 (55%) were for
individuals who served in the VA line, 7 (32%) in the NC line,
and only 1 (5%) each for SC, DE, and MA lines for a whopping 92%
representation from below the Mason-Dixon line. The 44 entries
for Daniels, on the other hand, were all from lines north of the
Mason-Dixon (CT - 14, MA - 12, NH - 5, NJ - 3, NY - 2, VT - 1, PA
- 1, and 5 from some combination of those states) with one lone
exception - John Daniels privateer srv NC and PA who said he was
born in NJ and moved to NC at age 10. There was also one James
Dannels of NY line. Thus, not one single entry was for a Daniels
applicant who was from a family rooted below the Mason-Dixon
line. The North/South demarcation between the two names is
striking. These abstracts fall far short of being an all
encompassing "census." Not all families participated in the war,
some who did were loyalists, and not all who participated on the
patriot side lived to apply for pensions. Still, they do serve
as a significant sample. A big question arises with regard to
the very early and numerous representatives of Daniel/Daniell
families in MA and CT. They not appear as Daniell and there is
only one Daniel from MA. This raises the question of their
status. Is it that they simply did not apply for pensions, or
are they appearing under the name Daniels? Can any descendants
shed some light on this question?
Welcome to the Daniel list.
I am interested in the following couple - George Daniel and Anna. Do
you have any other info on these two? Was he born in Indiana?
I would appreciate any help you may have, as I have been pounding this
