As Maureen says, "Let the fun begin!"
This is to announce the opening bell for the CTGenWeb Official Logo Contest. With our new
domain, new State Coordinator, Maureen Mead, and our Jim Rothgeb returning to the fold, we
thought this would be a perfect time for a new CTGenWeb logo.
The contest is open to all CTGenWeb members, including State Coordinator, Assistant State
Coordinator, County Coordinators, and Town Coordinators.
The contest begins NOW, and submissions will be accepted through 9:00 p.m. EDT on August
15th.
I'm going to copy and paste the approved contest rules below, but you'll also find
them on this page (which is linked from the main page of New London County, too):

The CTGenWeb Project will hold a logo contest during July and August to choose an
official logo for the state, county, and town sites. At this time, we invite and encourage
CTGenWeb members to enter the contest with their designs. We've included the
approved USGenWeb logos on this page, since the USGenWeb and CTGenWeb logos will appear
together on our pages.
Here is the small print . . .
Contest rules:
1. Entries must be received by 9:00 p.m. EDT on August 15, 2008.
2. All entries become the property of CTGenWeb, as part of The USGenWeb Project, and
will not be returned.
3. Only entries via email will be accepted. Send your finished logo graphic in either JPEG
or GIF format to grace.lasker(a)gmail.com. Each entry must include your name, address,
daytime phone and email address. The contact information will be kept private. Be sure to
use "CTGenWeb Logo Contest" as your Subject so that Grace can process your
entry.
4. By entering the contest, all participants unconditionally agree to be bound by all
terms of these contest rules.
5. All entries must be original works, produced by the entrant, and must not contain any
copyrighted material.
6. Logos should include the phrase CTGenWeb somewhere in the design. (note the
capitalization)
7. The size should be approximately 163 x 93 pixels to be similar in size to accompany
the USGenWeb logo on each CTGenWeb entry page.
8. By entering a design, each entrant agrees and grants The CTGenWeb Project the
irrevocable right to make available, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, edit,
modify, create derivative works and otherwise use the logo for any purpose in any form and
on any media in perpetuity without compensation.
9. All eligible entries will be placed before a vote of CTGenWeb members on August 18th,
and each CTGenWeb member will have through midnight on August 31st EDT to vote for his or
her favorite logo. The top vote-getter will be CTGenWeb's Official Logo. In the
event of a tie for the highest number of votes, there will be a run off vote. There is no
monetary compensation for this contest.
There's a lot of talent out there, and we can't wait to see what you can come up
with. Thanks, and good luck!
