We are Everette Carr and Terri Buster, members of the USGenWeb Election
Committee. Your current State Coordinator, George Waller has requested that
we conduct an election for the next State Coordinator for CTGenWeb.
All announcements regarding the election will be sent to the CTGenWeb
members using the CTGEN list. This is the first of a number of
announcements that will be sent to the list over the next two or three
weeks.
All correspondence relative to nominations and voting will be by
*private*e-mail. Any nominations submitted for consideration must be
sent to Terri
and Everette at the following e-mail addresses:

Nominations or votes submitted to the CTGen list *will* *be* *ignored*.
The election will be conducted in the following manner:
*NOMINATIONS*
**
Monday, April 21, 2008 - Nominations open.
Sunday, April 27, 2008 - Nominations close at midnight.
Any CTGen member can nominate any other eligible CTGen member for the
position of SC. You can also nominate yourself. Nominations must be
submitted privately to both of the EC Committee members listed above.
Nominations do not require a 'second'.
The election is only for the position of State Coordinator. The newly
elected SC will appoint one or more ASC to assist with the operation of the
state.
Nominees will be announced on the CTGen list as received. A second notice
will be posted when they either accept or decline the nomination. A list of
eligible nominees that have accepted the nomination will be posted on the
CTGen list on Monday, April 28, 2008.
*CAMPAIGNING*
**
Campaigning will commence on Monday, April 28, 2008 after the list of
nominees is announced.
A period of one week will be set aside for campaigning. This can be
accomplished on the list up until Sunday, May 4th. After May 4th, no
further campaigning is allowed on the CTGen list, but, nominees may create a
campaign page on April 28th which may stay up for the duration of the
election.
*VOTING*
Voting will commence on May 5, 2008. Voting will end on midnight, Sunday,
May 11, 2008. Only eligible CTGen members may cast a vote.
Votes must be sent by *private* e-mail to:

The winner of the election will be announced on May 12, 2008.
Any questions about election procedures should be sent to both of the
Election Committee members at the e-mail addresses shown above. If it is an
issue that would concern all CTGen members, the EC members will post it to
the list for all to see. There is no reason for any CTGen member to post
inquiries to the list if they are in regards to the election.
Thank you for your cooperation and please participate in the election. Full
participation is essential in any election and is particularly important
when electing a State Coordinator.
