Ray,
I agree that it's a great idea, especially when URLs change or if a large
body of information is added to a county or town site. It would be great to
have that kind of information.
Jim Rothjeb changed the CTGEN_L awhile back to a closed list, but maybe it
got reset in the transition.
If subscribers aren't allowed to subscribe automatically, using the
CTGEN-L-request(a)rootsweb.com, the list administrator (George) has to
manually subscribe new members. It should be easy enough to maintain, as it
would only require change when a new town or county coordinator is added or
an e-mail address changes. The change would need to be made at
http://lists.rootsweb.com/tools/CTGEN
"Allow people to subscribe themselves by sending the command ``subscribe''
to the -request
address?
"If you turn off this option, all requests to subscribe will be forwarded to
you, and new users will get added to the list only if you do it manually.
*** Allow users to subscribe automatically (NO)
CTGEN-L doesn't appear to be listed on the RootsWeb index for CT mailing
lists (although it may appear on other indexes).

Pat
That is exactually what it is for, I was just letting others know of a
new list that I made available to them. I do have two GenWeb town sites,
Bristol, CT at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcbrist/
And Goshen, CT at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctlitch2/goshen/
It would be good if there was more communication between the cornadators
on this list, it is almost never used except occasionally by someone not
connetied with the GenWeb. I don't know who is running the list, it
should be George Waller as the State Cornadator.
It would be good if rootsweb would allow the owner to restrict
membership, but unfortunally it is listed like all other list at
Rootsweb, and open for others to join.
George is there a way to Correct that?

indicate that all county coordinators must subscribe to a state project
