I just received the message below, and have not yet investigated or responded.
The link
sited is the USGenWeb Archives, and not the NL pages, but I can't say
without checking
that there are none on the New London County CTGenWeb site. Just wondering if
anyone
else has gotten a message like this...?

Subject: Birth records under 100 years posted on the internet
It has come to our attention that birth records less than 100 years old are
being posted
to the US Genweb New London County page (see below). Please note that Section
7-51 of
Connecticut General Statutes provides that birth records less than one hundred
years old
are only open to certain parties including the individual in question, his/her
guardian or
legal representative or a member of a genealogical society incorporated or
authorized to
do business or conduct affairs in Connecticut, not to the general public.
Because abuse
of vital records privileges by genealogists may potentially lead to laws even
more
restrictive that those currently in force, please have the non-conforming
records removed
from your web page as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance for correcting this situation.

to whom it may concern
I am alarmed to see birth records being posted on the internet regardin New
London births
under 100 years old. The ones I saw posted to NL Genweb were in the 1920s,
and said
submitter was Ian Martin,
He has cited New London records and indices.
He frequents the State Library, as well as New london Clerk's office, so I
don't know
where the breach is.
that is, presuming he does not have a genealogist's card. If he has a
card then it is
even more alarming as he can access anthing, and shows no regard for privacy.
It does no
good to restrict records to the general public and then have the rules
circumvented so
easily.
url below, then click the individual files:
