Dear Colleague and State Coordinator:
I am a candidate for County Coordinator Representative in the Project
elections. I would appreciate your forwrding this message to the
county coordinators in your state for their consideration.
Here is my Candidate Page Link:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~pasulliv/resources/about/RESCandidate0605.htm
In general, I believe there are a few key structural problems with
the
USGENWEB Project that require attention, such as formalizing the
legal
strucutre of the Project. However, the most important issues to be
addressed by the individual elected to this position are how to help
County Coordinators be more effective in: building a local network
of
contributors, making their web pages more salient and meaningful to
the public, and building effective alliances with local sources of
information such as newspapers, historical societies and museums.
Therefore, if I am elected, I commit to making a PERSONAL visit to
your state and the others within this region, to at least two
different locations, within six months of my election. The purpose
of these visits will be to meet with you and any of your county
coordiantors who are able to get to at least one of those places to
talk in person about your needs and goals in your state. I believe
that any plan to represent the county coordinators from your state
should be based on confidence that each of you has been heard,
acknowledged and taken seriously. That is best done in person.
Together, we can then create or at least improve our working support
system to be sure that we are doing the things that matter in a
constructive way for your state and its counties, and the folks who
represent them.
