Good Morning!
Maureen and I had a long conversation yesterday about the domain and hosting package at
Powweb. Because the renewal is imminent, I think it is best for everyone to stick with our
current hosting, and take the next six months to really consider our needs and financial
resources. So, the pressure is off for now.
In the meantime, let's just work on "Project Broken Windows." The theory is
one house with an overgrown lawn, peeling paint, and broken windows, affects the value of
the whole neighborhood. At your first opportunity, please check links, update your
copyright year, and just make sure it looks like the lights are on and someone is home.
Linda Pingel has resigned as Tolland County CC and a number of town sites. They are all on
her personal genealogy domain. Ray Brown is GONE. His email is bouncing. John Pillis and
Karen Steel are deceased. If you link to their town sites, PLEASE put a disclaimer on
your page to let visitors know that the links may lead to an outside site, and, or that
the TC is no longer maintaining the site, and all new data should be submitted to the
County Coordinator.
IF YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE updating your sites, please let me or Jim know, and we'll help
you. If you are in a time crunch, and just don't have the ability right now, we can
get you over that hump. We all know what it's like to deal with REAL LIFE issues, and
there will be times when each of us must take time to handle them. We completely
understand, and are here to help. Don't hesitate to ask. If we can't figure it
out, we'll bug Maureen. ;-)
