Thanks, Jim!
I've warned the Election Committee that this will take time, but I hope to get the
membership list up to date in the next thirty days.
The greatest help to me right now would be if every County Coordinator and Town/Local
Coordinator will at least check their main entrance page, and make sure that the
Copyright Date is 2014, that contact info for the County or Town/Local Coordinator is on
the page (it doesn't have to be a hyperlink - it can just be an image file or a text
address), and required logos are present on the page - See
http://www.ctgenweb.org/contribute.html . If that's done for all active pages, we can
easily spot an abandoned site, and go to further lengths to locate the coordinator.
I think we are the only state in the USGenWeb Project with separate Town/Local
Coordinators in most counties. Since CT government is town based, I understand the
reasoning, but it's not a requirement. Town/Local sites are subject to the same
USGenWeb requirements as State and County sites.
I promise that I won't be posting constantly, but I do welcome discussion. We'll
have a lot of big decisions to make at the end of the year, as the state site, and several
county and town sites, are on Maureen's domain. Also, I'd like for us to consider
some simple bylaws for CTGenWeb, and get input from others about what may be needed.

Hi, I have done a quick run through on the Middlesex County and town pages and no I have
been doing this for a long time myself and still with no formal training it shows. I only
have one other volunteer who has two of the towns. If you need some work done at the other
counties or on the state, let me know.JimOn Tuesday, November 18, 2014 5:41 PM, Patricia

Board has been busy since the USGenWeb Elections, and I just got confirmation from Denise
Wells, the National Coordinator, that CTGenWeb is not required to hold a formal election.
YEY!Maureen Mead and I talked on the phone yesterday, and although she's had a bumpy
road, she's looking forward to recovery. When she's feeling up to it, she'll
be back at the helm at Fairfield County CTGenWeb. Maureen, just know that we are thinking
about you, and appreciate all the work you have put into CTGenWeb!!!I've redone some
of the state pages, because I can't follow a professional web designer! I collect
vintage postcards, and scan and restore the images, and I thought it would be fun to use a
different postcard each month. I have some really nice cards from different areas of
Connecticut.
http://www.ctgenweb.org/ The next task is updating the membership roll, and
it is a daunting task. I have Maureen's most recent spread sheet, and she and I had a
lot of communication before she resigned. We know that some Town/Local Coordinators have
left. I'll update to the best of my ability, but if you know that someone is gone
altogether, please let me know. It will save time. Thanks to you who have stuck around for
so long. I joined in 1999, and it's comforting to see the same names year after year.
