Subject: [CTGEN] Busy Times for CTGenWeb!
Many thanks to Maureen for facilitating a smooth transfer, and to all of you who
have remained or (Jim Rothjeb) came back to help out. Maureen, we love you, and
wish you a good recovery!!!
I hope this message isn't too long. I just want to let everyone know that I'm
not snoozing....I'm just thinking. ;-)
We know that some folks have drifted away or changed email addresses. This is
the case in *every* state. Maureen has worked diligently to identify missing
coordinators of counties and towns. It will take awhile to get pages and lists
updated, and I'll be in "catch up" mode for awhile. I hope you can be
patient
with me.
It would help me A LOT if those of you who are still active county or town/local
coordinators could make sure that you have 2014 as the copyright year on your
main page, along with the CTGenWeb Logo and an approved USGenWeb Logo.
There will be big decisions to make in the near future, as Maureen's domain will
be up for renewal in February. We have a little time to decide where to house
the state pages. As always, county and town/local sites can be housed where the
coordinator chooses. We still have the option for free space at
RootsWeb/Ancestry.Com.
Because local/regional government is town-based in Connecticut, I understand the
importance of Town Clerk contact info, lists of research libraries, etc., linked
from the county pages. There is no requirement for every town to have a
separate coordinator. I think that is something that should be decided among the
county and town coordinators.
I know we all have "real lives," and may be involved in other USGenWeb states,
too. If you have good ideas, or just want to talk, you may bring it up on this
list or email me at patricia.sabin(a)comcast.net or newlondon(a)patsabin.com . I
hope everyone will stick with us, and we'll try to make Maureen and Jim and
George proud!
Thanks for everything,
Pat Sabin
