At one time, David Hoyt's book was available for purchase through Picton
Press or Heritage Books. It sold for $55 on the 1983 re-print of 500 copies. I
think it may have been re-printed again after that.
The Mormons have it on microfilm, but it is tough to read it this way if you
are searching from the index and reeling back and forth to a given page and
then back to the index again, and repeating this over and over again.
You might try going to your local bookstore and seeing if they can order a
copy for you. I bought several that way for my children about 20 years ago.
The title is "A Genealogical History of the Hoyt, Haight, and Hight Families."
It was written by David W. Hoyt and has a date of 1871 on it. It has about 700
I heard once that it was available on line, but I don't ever remember seeing
it that way.
Many large public libraries or some genealogical libraries may have a copy on
Roy Olsen of Paducah Kentucky ran the Hoyt's Issue newsletter for a number of
years. He stopped doing this some four or five years ago. I think it may have
been illness that caused the termination of Hoyt's Issue, rather than
motivation to continue on. (He did a lot for all of us Hoyt descendants.) Roy is
the person who commissioned Robin Bush to investigate Simon Hoyt's background in
England. One issue of Hoyt's Issue contained the information that he found.
It did dispute some of the earlier findings that David W. Hoyt had written
about, but only in England. I don't remember any disparities with the
information that David W. Hoyt had published about Simon Hoyt in the USA.
Hope this is helpful to you.
