Hi, Has anyone found any connection to William A. Coleman or William G. Coleman who was born in 1804 in Kentucky and died on July 9, 1860 in Noble Township, Shelby co. Indiana and is buried in the Winchester Cemetery in Washington Township, Shelby co. Indiana. William Coleman married on January 25, 1839 in Shelby co. Indiana to Sarah Tindall. Anyone with information on this William Coleman I would be happy to hear from. Thank you. Duane McKenzie.
I you all don't already know about this site of the Coleman Family of
Mobjack Bay Virginia, log on to:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobjackbaycolemans. You
will be amazed at the amount of data that has been researched. I am
descended through Robert Coleman and Ann Silsby; Robert Coleman and Mary
Clayton; Samuel Coleman and Elizabeth Wyatt; Robert Coleman (wife unknown)
his son William Coleman who married Elizabeth Vann, my 3rd great
grandfather. There are no proofs available, but might open areas of further
research for all of you.

Subject: [COLEMAN] Robert Coleman m. Elizabeth Grizzell
I am (pretty sure I am) from the line of the Robert Coleman who married
Elizabeth Grizzell. He was born about 1620, and I usually see him styled "of
Mobjack Bay".
I have tried to confirm the earlier generations of my line to my
satisfaction, and was surprised to find that I could document practically
none of it.
I am interested in accumulating scans of original (or clerk's copies),
contemporaneous documents for display on my website and personal study. I'd
also like transcriptions of same if scans cannot be had. Does anyone have
anything scanned?
The whitespace filter is probably going to kill the formatting of this, but
here goes:
/Robert * COLEMAN b: ABT. 1620 d: 1689 /Daniel * COLEMAN b: ABT. 1660 d: 7
JUN 1722 | \Elizabeth * GRIZZELL b: ABT. 1632 d: ABT. 1700 /Daniel * COLEMAN
b: 1686 d: BET. 29 AUG 1763 - 22 JAN 1770 | \possibly [--?--] DARBY /Thomas
* COLEMAN b: ABT. 1722 | \Patience * ELLIOT b: 1687 d: BET. 18 JUL - 26 AUG
1771 /Guilelmus * COLEMAN b: 1756 d: BET. 1823 - 1828 | \Elizabeth *
POINDEXTER Eleanor "Millie" Wilson * COLEMAN b: ABT. 1794 d: AFT. 1860
\Eleanor * TURNER b: ABT. 1760 d: BEF. 2 MAY 1828
I'd like document proof via scan for each and every generation, and for
every wife's maiden name.
So far my page only has one scan showing (and transcription), and it looks
like this:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gbonner/coleman.html
I hope others have scans they can share. Maybe you have the exact thing
someone else needs to prove their line.
Cheers,
Gregg

Hi,
I read that you have been researching the Coleman line. Do you know of the Colemans in New Jersey? I have an Aunt that married a Henry Coleman but come to a dead end. She was born in finland. Her name was Fannie or her given name was Linda Finne. I can't find anything on the family. She was born in 1888 in finland and all I know about him is that his name is Henry Coleman. I believe she died in the 1970s. If you don't have any info on that family do you know where I can find it? Thank you Mary Maratta. My e-mail is Jmaratta(a)aol.com

Is this the Robert who married Elizabeth Grizzell about 1655 in Glocester
County, VA? If so, I also descend from him. What is your source for James as
his father?
Thanks,
Ron Dawson
