I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as that of Frank S. FITCH of
Geneva, Ohio. The photograph was taken at the Alden's Art Gallery Studio in
Oberlin, OH likely sometime in the 1860's or 1870's with Frank appearing to
be in his 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. In addition to his name
and hometown he has also written "Yours truly" on the back of the
photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following
information regarding Frank and his family:
Frank S. FITCH was b. 25 Feb 1846 in Geneva, OH to parents Martin Luther
FITCH and Eliza Hudson COLEMAN. Frank married Anne or Anna E. HASKELL on 23
May 1872 in Geneva, OH and he died 23 Dec 1917. Census records provide the
following information:
1880 census of Cincinnati, OH:
Frank S. FITCH, age 34, born OH, a Clergyman, parents born MA/CT
Anna H. FITCH, wife, age 32, born OH, at Home, parents born MA/NY
Anna E. FITCH, dau, age 7, born CT
Florence M. FITCH, dau, age 5, born CT
I am hoping to locate someone from Frank's family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to the care of his family.
If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
