I've "rescued" an old photograph of Edith & Elsie ARTMAN which was taken at
the Post Studio in Denver, Colorado. The photograph appears to have been
taken in the 1880's with Edith and Elsie appearing to be infant - 3 years
old. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following
information regarding the girls and their family:
Edith I. ARTMAN was the daughter of John S. & Eva ARTMAN
Edith married Walter Allen COLEMAN (b. 12 May 1886 in Denison, KS) on 2 Jun
1902 and together they had three children, Howard A.; David A.; and Doris E.
COLEMAN all born in KS between 1911 and 1918.
Edith died on 8 Aug 1968
Elsie May ARTMAN b. 6 May 1890 in Denver, CO to parents John Stephen ARTMAN
and Rebecca Evaline BAKER
Elsie died 1 Sept 1969
Census records provide the following:
1910 census of Garfield Township, KS:
John S. ARTMAN, age 47, married 25 years, born KS, parents born MO/?, a
Stock Dealer
Eva R. ARTMAN, wife, age 43, married 25 years, 6 children/6 living, born KS,
parents born WV/NC
Elsie M. ARTMAN, dau, age 19, born CO, a General Store Saleswoman
Edna C. ARTMAN, dau, age 17, born CO
Walter H. ARTMAN, son, age 14, born KS
Harry J. ARTMAN, son, age 10, born KS

I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old
treasure can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family,
or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
