You can write a letter to the local county courthouse that had cognizance
over the estate and they will check and, if there is one, send you a copy
for a very small fee.
They may want you to include the money in your letter, so you ought to cvall
them and ask first.

Family verbal history is our family came from Wales and Ireland. I have traced my Colemans back to Coleman families in VA. b. about 1750. As usual with the family naming their children their families' and nicknamed all of them so Jorden son of Jordan JR would know when it was his suppertime. My mother had 5 Coleman brothers only one was called by his first name. Now 2 of them are living still known to all as Peewee and JR.
Any proven data to trace the Colemans of this time span please contact me, One of the Jesse, [brothers or cousins] married Frances Southall in VA about 1804 and Jordan married Nancy Anderson TN abt.1809 and Jesse and Frances were there. My gr gr grandfather known as Jack Coleman, named Joshua C. Coleman married 1840 Sarah A. Bird then after she died 1850 he married Jane Floyd Bearden.
Anyone with information please contact.

Further to recent submissions re Cork & Sligo COLEMANs, I would like to hear
from any Irish COLEMANs who came from Co Westmeath.
My great grandparents were married in Mullingar ca 1872 in what is now the
RC Cathedral of Christ the King. The Cathedral was a replacement for the old
St Mary's Church which stood on the same site.
Gr Grandparents were Thomas Coleman and he married Sarah Grey. They left
Mulingar shortly after being married and moved to North Lanarkshire where my
grandfather John Coleman was born in 1872 and Baptised in the RC Church of
St Patrick's in Coatbridge.
A number of other siblings were born in the same area after that.
Daughter Mary Ann married an Irish man Conn Breslin and they emigrated to
Cayahoga, Ohio in the early 1900's.
Would love to hear from anyone who thinks we may be related. Other places in
Ireland were Tyrellspass and possibly Castlelost West.

James aka Seamus Coleman

Thanks Dan . I don't have any family here in Australia but I will look into
it and see if my brother will do it
from UK did you join the project I know my brother wouldn't be interested
in doing that as he doesn't
spend much time on the computer with his work and travel and weekends with
family
Which kit did you use the 37 or 67 to find out you were from Cork and did
you have to submit another
male sample or just your own

Hi James.
I am not sure if there is a connection or not but it is something worth
looking into.
My father was James Joseph COLEMAN born in Philadelphia, PA in 1940.
My grandfather was John/Jack COLEMAN born 1910 in Thornton, Lancashire,
England.
My great grandfather father was James COLEMAN, born in Liverpool, England in
September, 1880 or 1881. He married Fanny HARLING in 1906.
According to his marriage certificate, James' father is listed as James
COLEMAN, deceased laborer.
Now, here is the thing...
My great grandfather was raised in an orphanage after his father died when
he was young. and my family was indeed Catholic.
When I looked over the 1881 England Census, I did come across what appeared
to be my great grandfather, James Coleman, that would fit if he was indeed
born in 1880. His father was listed as being born in Ireland but I am not
100% sure that it was the right one especially if he was born in 1881 as
according to another record..
If you think that there might be a connection then please let me know. I
look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Happy hunting!

Brenda,
My grt grandfather was from County Cork, but I don't know which Civil
Parish. He was John Coleman, born about 1825. He arrived in NY City in
1853 and married my grt grandmother Mary English from County Waterford.
No marriage record found yet, but the first child was born in 1855,
Mary, who later became a Sister of St. Joseph. Their next was Daniel. It
suggests that John's father may have been Daniel.
John Coleman and Mary English Coleman had, after Daniel, Bridget,
Michael Francis, Margaret, Catherine, Johanna Elizabeth, John, and
Henry, a total of nine children. The Colemans left lower Manhattan in
the late 1860s and settled in Williamsburg Brooklyn across the East
River. John Coleman died in 1880 and Mary English Coleman died in 1909.
I know this is slim pickin's. The only other possible teeny clue I had
was a notice in the Boston Pilot website, Search for Missing Friends.
Apparently a William Colemen in Harrisburg was looking for his brother,
one John Coleman, who went to NYC in 1853. This family was from
Churchtown, according to the notice, in the Barony of Orrery & Kilmore.
Any of this ring bells in your head?
Sheila
Hello - just wondering if any of you have submitted a Coleman man for ydna?
Thanks,
Brenda

I am a Coleman descendant also with Green lineage (I think).
Actually, what little info I have on my Greens consists of a few unconnected
entries in a genealogy database.
Nevertheless, my ancestors came from VA down to TN too and some of them went
on from there down to AL.
My Greens are as follows:
Martha A. Greene
b: 03/03/1845
d: 01/25/1910
Walter O. Green
b: 1845
d: 1933
William Watson Green, Jr.
b: 10/27/1896
d: 06/18/1899
(pooor fellow died as an infant)
William Watson Green, Sr.
b: 11/07/1869
d: 04/25/1896
(Note: WWG Jr. was born 6 mos. after WWG Sr. passed away!)
Other than WWGJr & WWGSr, I cannot even say the other 2 Greens are related
to any of the others.
If you have any information on any of these Greens, I would appreciate your
sharing that with me, especially if you can provide the link into the
Coleman line.
Thank you.

(another part) - Auditor's report. Auditor has not ascertained any other debts against the said estate than those which are "Leins" upon the lands specified. The said land was formerly the estate of Thomas Brown dec'd and is yet bound for the unpaid portions of the shares of certain heirs of said Brown under the recognizance of record at No. 20 January Court 1832 being all, (except as to Turner G. Brown) arising from that portion of the valuation which was left a lien on the land during the life of Caroline, widow of said Thomas Brown. She died April 1 1842 up to which time her annuity was fully paid. Elijah Coleman died. all of whom are now dead without issue except three & one leaving issue who died since 1845. The personal estate are amply sufficient to pall all his debts. The only other lien besides the Brown recobnizance is the Judgment in favor of David E. Porter herinafter specified.

Hi! I'm hoping someone will recognize some of these names from my Coleman family tree. My GGF, Cornelius Coleman, was born in Bear Haven (Beara Island, Co. Cork), Ireland in 1825. His parents were Dennis and Joanna (Dunn) Coleman. He immigrated to the US in 1838 (?) according to one source I found, and from Boston went to Rutland, Vermont, then settled in Lyndon, Vermont in Caledonia County. He married Sarah Harrington and had 9 or 11 children. He died in 1910. My GF, Cornelius Coleman (went by 'Charles' in later years), worked for the railroad and made his way to Ironwood, MI. He married Susan Rafferty from the town of Holland, Brown County, WI. in 1894. They had 5 living children--one was my dad, Harold, born in 1907. They moved to Phillips, WI, then Halsey, in Marathon County. Cornelius died in 1920. The family then moved to Kaukauna, WI, where they remained. If any of these names ring familiar to any of you, please let me hear from you! THANKS!!
