Dear List -
I am trying to find a birth record for my aunt, Lola Malcolma (WELLS)
COLEMAN, who is said to have been born on May 27, 1907 in Buckeye, MO.
It was thought that Buckeye was in New Madrid Co., but my research seems
to indicate that Buckeye was actually in Mississippi Co., MO.
Lola's parents were Edwin and Minnie WELLS. I understand that birth
records were not officially kept in MO until 1910, but I'm wondering if
anyone knows of any other source that might have her birth record.
She married Willie Baxter COLEMAN on March 12, 1924 in Hayti, Pemiscot
Co., MO. They migrated to MI, and later in life to CA, having had 5
sons: Billie, Edward, Lewis, Daniel and John.
Any help acquiring a birth record for Lola is greatly appreciated.

MO State Archives may have a copy of the
local historical society or the local library may
have a copy or the hospital records may be
available at the State Archives or the State
Historical Society as well. Good Luck
I had a great grand uncle William Coleman born 1853 in Southwark, London, parents William(1828 believe Ireland) ) mother Mary Hurley(1831 Bermondsey) non Catholics, he and his sisters were orphaned in 1866
I know his sisters were put in an orphanage which I believe was not a good life
and I imagine he was too. We know the girls were taken to Canada by their grandmother
maybe he was too as he ended up in California and he used to send them money and then it stopped
and they never heard of him again. Wondering if anyone has any connections

I am working on my great-great-grandparents, William Coleman born 1802
Tennessee died 1885 Red River Parish, Louisiana, and his first wife, Sarah
Ogden born 1806 Tattnall Co., Georgia. William's father was also William
Coleman of Tattnall Co. The family settled in Bienville Parish, Louisiana by
1850. After Sarah's death, William married Margaret Emeline Baygents and
had a son, J. J. Coleman. Is anyone else working on this line?
Thanks,
Shirley
I don't know anything about the Colmon's in my family history but my Great
Grandfathers name was HURLEY COLMON. He always insisted on using that
spelling. I was curious when I saw William Coleman's Mothers maiden name was
HURLEY.

Sonny,
Thanks for sending this. Can you contact anyone down there about her arrangements? My mother, Marie Coleman, has been trying to call both Eva's number and her son's and the calls are not going through for some reason. If the funeral happens to be on Monday we both have some commitments to re-arrange and need to know ASAP. Thanks!
