If you have been considering using DNA as a tool to use with your genealogy
research, now might be the time. Both DNA by Ancestry and Family Tree DNA
are offering specials on their DNA tests.
The Coleman DNA project www.colemanfamilies.org
<http://www.colemanfamilies.org/> accepts results from all testing
companies. We are continually growing and making strides at connecting the

Hello Coleman List,
I am searching for cousins! I am searching for all descendents of William
and Sarah (Ogden) Coleman. William was born in 1802 in Tennessee and Sarah
(daughter of Daniel and Mary (Sapp) Ogden) was born in 1806 in Georgia. They
were married ca 1826 in Tattnall County, Georgia. The family lived in Butler
Co., Alabama for several years; moved to Clark County, Mississippi and from
there to Mt. Olive, Bienville Parish, Louisiana. After Sarah's death, William
moved into Red River Parish, Louisiana, married Emoline Baygent Cox (who had
a daughter, Elsie Cox) and had a son, J. J. Coleman. I need info on J. J.
William died after the 1880 census.
The 10 children of William and Sarah Coleman are: James Jackson Coleman,
Nancy E. Coleman Hennigan, Emelie "Milly" Coleman Hennigan, Sirena A. Coleman
Hennigan, Green Berry Coleman, Sarah Ardilla "Dilly" Coleman Lewter, Amanda,
William A. Coleman, John H. Coleman and Eugenia Coleman Vail. All were born in
Alabama, except Eugenia, who was born in Mississippi.
According to oral family history, one of the Colemans got into some kind of
trouble, left Mississippi and instead of stopping in Louisiana with the
family, he went into Texas to the Beaumont area. My great-uncle visited the
family once and said they lived on a lake. It is not known who he
was....possibly a brother of William. I would like to contact descendents of this family.
If you are a descendent, please contact: (_happeenotes(a)aol.com_

Thank you,
