Hello
Thanks for the information.
I`m sure this is the correct family. Sarah and David are my
g-g-grandparents. Hope I am able to find Samuel and the rest and where
they came from.
The Henry you mention in the other message was a brother of David and his
wife was named Mary.
Regards
Charles

I am looking for information regarding a Marshall Lafayette Coleman. He was born in NY in December of 1894. His father was William J. Coleman (b. Ohio)and Martha Coleman (nee. Marshall).
He traveled extensivly because of his job with Standard Oil Co. He either lived in Manila or got caught there when the Japanese captured the Islands during WWII.
He is listed among those civilians who were liberated after the massacre of Manlia. When his father William died, several grandchildren were listed as part of his estate. I believe them to have been children of Marshall's (although I do not know if he ever got married). I suppose these to be Marshall's children because he was the only male child in his family and the grandchildren's last names were Coleman. There names were William Coleman, Barbara Coleman and Patricia (estate in 1932).
I don't know if Marshall ever returned to the states or if he died here or in the Islands. His sister Mildred Barto lived in Flushing, Queens, NY. I am assuming that Marshall returned and lived either with his children or with his sister.
If Anyone has any info. regarding this man and his family I would love to hear from you.
Thank you
Joan

Does anyone have any info on this family residing in either of the above counties in the early part of the 19th century?
Our only early info on my g-g-grandmother, SARAH LEONA LAWSON COLEMAN (Barnes) is in an obituary for her from the Fort Collins Courier (Larimer County, Colorado, August 1902) and is somewhat lacking in detail.
The following is an excerpt from the obituary:
"Mrs. Sarah Lawson Barnes, died at North Park (Colorado) on Tuesday, August 19, 1902, aged 75 years. She was born February 22, 1827 in Allegheny County, near Pittsburgh and was the eldest of the family of three daughters and one son. She was married to David M. Barnes, son of Joseph and Barbara Barnes, Mat 29, 1845 by her uncle, Rev. E. Coleman at her father`s home and with her husband started for the west. Their first home being in Illinois and then across the plains by wagon train to Colorado in 1861."
The names of her parents and siblings were not listed.
Would be interested in any information on the family.
Thank you.
