Hello All
I have found with email addresses that if I put my curser at the end of one
that doesn't work and then backspace a few letters at a time and then hit enter
///I will eventually come up with an email address that works for that page.
Try it

I am researching my line of Colemans. The first person I have records of
is John Coleman born November 26th, 1815 in Edgefield SC. He married Amanda
Eleanor Keenan from York District SC
Jan 26th, 1844 in Tallapoosa Alabama. They had a son names Joseph Cephus
Coleman born June 10th,1856 in Leake County Ms.
I am interested in any information anyone has on this line but my top goals
are the parents of John and the burial site of John and Amanda.

Yes - I would like a copy of the newspaper picture. My Coleman ancestry is
still a bit of a mystery to me and this may help.
Thanks, Linda

Hi
Many thanks for this. I am convinced that the Bridget Quirk head of
Household in the 1855 census is my Great Great Grandmother. Her death
certificate had her living at Franklin Ave, Green Point, Long Island. She is
in the 1850 Census at Green Point as well with property worth $5,000 and
married to Bernard Quirk (head), with the son from her first marriage John
James McGrath age 11 and Mary C Quirk age 1.
I will follow up on the other sites - by the 1880's John James McGrath was
in Japan/China and I doubt very much that he was involved in the Civil War,
more likely the Fenians ( my comments from some photos that he has left us).
He was well educated and I think involved in trading activities between the
USA and Japan/China.
Regards
Gerry in Oz

Hi List
I have seen a lot of activity on the list so am posting one of my "brick walls".
I am researching the family of my Great Grandfather's half sister Mary C (Jessie) Quirk born 1849 in NYC. She married a Michael A Coleman in the 1870's in NYC possibly 1871 or 1873 and from records from my Great Grandfather, in 1884 his sister was living 6th Ave New York. From photos I have I know my Great Grandfather (John James McGrath) had cousins/relatives with the name of (Charles) Park, (Celia) Walsh and (Grace) Rhodes. My Great Grandfather's mother Bridget married a second time to a Bernard Quirk and she died in 1867 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery. I have found the family in the 1860 census for New York and am now working on all the clues my Great Grandfather has left me.
In the 1900 Census for Manhattan ward 12 7th Ave I Found Michael Coleman age 59 born in Ireland, Mary F Coleman his wife age 48, Grace M dau age 15, Melia (probably Cecelia) J age 13 and Margaret E age 14. This census shows Mary as having 5 live children
In the 1910 census for Manhattan 2nd Street I found Cornelius Walsh age 30, Cecelia Walsh his wife age 33 and Mary Coleman Mother in law age 59.
I would love to hear from anyone with links to this family
