Hi everyone. I am hoping that someone out there connects to this family and can
give me a little insight to whether or not this is my great grandfather's
family.
I definitely know that my great grandfather was James Coleman born about 1880 or
1881 in Liverpool, England. He was married to Fannie HARLING (daughter of John
HARLING and Ann EAVES) on Dec 1, 1906 in Thornton, England. Two of their
children were born in Thornton. Anna Mary in 1907 and John Aloysious (my
grandfather) in 1909. Their other children Margaret Ellen, Joseph Francis,
Katherine Mary, Patrick James and Francis James were all born in Philadelphia,
PA between 1914 and 1922.
According to my great grandfather James' marriage certificate his father's name
was James and he was deceased. According to family my great great grandfather
died at sea when my great grandfather was a young boy.
Now I did find a family who's census info seems to fit and I am hoping that
someone out there is connected and can let me know if it seems that way to you
too.
I have a copy of a birth certificate that shows a James Joseph COLEMAN born July
8th 1880 in the sub-district Saint Martin of Liverpool. His parents were James
COLEMAN (house painter) and Ann KILPATRICK and they lived at 102 Tatlock St.
In the 1871 census James COLEMAN (ship painter) and Ann KILPATRICK had 5
children and they lived at 104 Tatlock St in Liverpool , England.
James Coleman age 40 born in Ireland
Ann age 32 born in Ireland
Michael age 13 born in Ireland
Mary age 11 born in Ireland
Alice age 7 born in Ireland
John age 5 born in Ireland
Bridget age 1 born in Liverpool. England
In the 1881 census James COLEMAN (painter) and Ann had 4 more children. Michael and Mary
are out of the home. They lived at 102 Talock St in Liverpool, England.
James COLEMAN age 46 born in Ireland
Ann age 37 born in Ireland
Alice age 17 born in Ireland
John age 15 born in ireland
Bridget age 11 born in Liverpool
Annie age 6 born in Liverpool
Mary age 4 born in Liverpool
Catherine age 2 born in Liverpool
James age 8 months born in Liverpool
I have not been able to locate this family together in the 1891 census. I do believe though that I have found a couple of the children living in other households as servants or as boarders and I have not been able to locate James (the father) at all. That is what is making me think that this might be my great grandfather and his family.
Here are most of the siblings living together in the 1901 census. They lived at 69 Lancaster St / Rd in Saint Mary's Parish, Liverpool, Kirkdale
Michael COLEMAN - age 44 - born in Ireland - ship painter - head
Bridget - age 30 - born in Ireland - rubber factory - sister
Ann - age 25 - born in Ireland - rubber factory - sister
Mary - age 23- born in Ireland - rubber factory - sister
Catherine - age 22 - born in Liverpool - sister
James - age 20 - born in Liverpool - brother
I would love to hear from anyone with a connection or any info that you would like to share.
Happy hunting!

Looking for leads for James J. Coalman who married Ruthy Brewer, 1849 Cherokee County, GA. Family stories have James and Ruthy migrating to Texas; later having a son Nicholas. Appreciate any help or suggestions.

Researching BREWER, THOMASON, VAUGHAN, REEVES & BRADFORD
I took a memory trip the other day. If anyone is researching Luther Coleman of Casey Co., Ky. & his wife Ada Bell Cravins of Moreland, Ky., I will share some information with you.
Luther & Ada opened a bar in Cincinnati, O. at 69th. & Vine, the bar was torn down in the mid 80's. I serviced the vending equipment ( juke box, cig. machine, pinball, pool, & etc. for years, and didn't know the bar had belonged to my family. Am trying to find pictures of the bar at this time. Luther's family owned & operated the Coleman Bowling Lanes in Fairfield, about 5 miles north of the bar. Most of Luther's family are buried in the Oak Hills Cemetery.
If anyone has any other information, I'll appreciate you input.
