I am searching for information about for my great grandfather's oldest brother. Family called him John and "Jack" a family nickname, on the 1850 census for Flat Creek , Bedford CO TN he is listed as Henry.
Family verbal history states he served in Civil War and did not return home. I want to check if anyone can help locate what happened to him.

I have records from several sources about the different Coleman families from VA. If you have Jesse Coleman and Elizabeth Southall in your line you are kin to what may be two different Coleman lines. I am kin to Jesse by his brother Jordan b. abt. 1750-1780 and his wife Nancy Anderson B. 1784 SC. Now I don't have time to get into my information and timeline it to get it so one can determine just what I have.I will after Christmas in January. I have had two computers in 8 years The files one the first one are still one it and on my new one a virus move my files everywhere. I still have this plus more recent information and genalogy from some kin folks.
Now I am interested in the family name Long, Lightfoot, Bird,Boone, Hurst, Norman and Stevens. My father's family came from Allen CO KY 2 Carlock brothers married 2 Lightfoot sisters and moved to TX about 1870. I grew up on their land and now my 4 sons live on it.
My Grandmother Coleman at age said the name Long was in the family but she didn't remember how, she died in a few days. My mother's family moved from TN to TX 1873. I have a few copies of letters from then. Including the some children of John Bearden and Jane Floyd. Some of them moved to Parker CO with the Boone and Coleman group and may be buried in the Dido area north of Azel. Was a community name Boone Lane there. I think one cementary is named Nelson Pedon, It is 2 cemantaries dived by a road.
I am a great granddaughter of William Samuel Coleman and Sarah Ann Boone a niece of Jane Floyd Bearden Coleman { step mother of my Sam Coleman}

In my research on the descendants of my ancestor, Samuel Coleman and Milly Coffey, I had a researcher in Todd Co., Ky that sent me a couple of pages from a book "Todd Co., Ky Family History". I would like to quote part of the information:

According to Robert's birthdate, he does not fit very well as a son of Robert and Sarah Ann Saunders.
Even the birthdates of his children would not make him a son of Robert and Sarah.
Question?? Does this Robert and Nelly belong with the Mobjack Bay Colemans??? If so, does anyone know who his parents are??? If not, does anyone know anything about him??
Sure could use a little help with this,
Thanks, Earl

Hi! I have no living family members that I know and am trying to find out
more about my family. I know that my great grandfather was GLENN STEPHENS
COLEMAN, son of HEBER J. COLEMAN and ISABEL STEPHENS born in Odgen, UT. I
cannot find any records of his parents.
Sometime in the 40's or 50's my great grandparents (Evelyn possibly
Ransom/Ranson) and their son, GLENN WILSON COLEMAN moved to the San
Francisco Bay Area.
If anyone out there has any information on any of the above names please let
me know. Thanks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
