GEORGE T. COLEMAN of MS - Newspaper Article, December 19, 1895
by Wayne and Peggy Horton
The following is an article I came across while viewing microfilm of THE FLORENCE HERALD newspaper. I have no other information -- just thought it possibly could be of interest to COLEMAN researchers.

KILLED IN INDIANA
A Mississippian Loses His Life While Going
From the Smoker to a Sleeping Car
Mitchell, Ind., Dec. 12 --- GEORGE T. COLEMAN
was killed about four miles east of here. He was
a passenger on a Baltimore and Ohio southwestern
train, eastbound, and was not missed until the train
reached North Vernon. Employees found him at
Hamer's crossing, where the road makes a short curve.
It is supposed he met his death while attempting
to go from the smoker to the sleeper. A memorandum
found on his person gave the following instructions:
"Should anything serious happen to me while
travelling, wire Mrs. GEORGE T. COLEMAN,
West Point, Miss."
