Hello,
I just joined this list in hope to help a friend. I was asked to find as
much as I can
on Romie and Elsie Coleman. They were Pennsylvania Quakers. Elsie was born
between 1880 and 1890's. She is also a DAR.
I am sorry that this is such a small and incomplete amount of information,
this is
all I was given. She is just starting out and don't have any more at this
time.
Thank You for all your help.
Millie
Randall will be laid out at the Pyle-Davis Funeral Home in Berea, Ky. this
evening 6-9.
1. RANDALL D.11 COLEMAN (CLYDE LOGAN10, OTTIS9, LAWRENCE8, FOUNTAIN F.7,
DANIEL6, SAMUEL5, JAMES4, SAMUEL3, JOHN2, ROBERT1) was born June 20, 1956
in Lincoln Co., Ky, and died October 27, 2004 in U.K. Hosp. Lexington,
Ky.. He married RENEE WILLIAMS August 09, 1979.
Annie Coleman, b 1879 in MO was my paternal grandmother. I am trying to
find out who her siblings and parents were. She may have come from
Washington Co., MO as family members seem to think she had family near
Potosi, MO.
By 1900, according to the census, Annie COLEMAN was living in Nelson,
township., Clay Co., Ark. and had been married to John ICENOGLE since
1895 [Have marriage license]. In the 1910 census she was in the same
location with her husband. Annie died about 1918, her husband died some
time after 1920.
Children of Annie Coleman and John Icenogle:
Ella Tempe Icenogle, 1914-1976
Zay Icenogle, born February 1900, died before 1910
Leroy Icenogle, born about 1903, probably deceased
Margaret Icenogle, 1907-1973
Otis Icenogle, born about 1908, died 1911
Eunice Buck Icenogle, 1911-1972
Horace Greeley Icenogle, 1914-1953
I have not been able to find Annie as a child in the 1880 census. I have
found some that might be her, but so far, every Annie I find has proven
to belong to someone else.
Family stories say she was Cherokee Indian, but no proof of this one way
or the other.
Thanks,
Cathy
Pat, I noted that you spelled Coleman as Colman. My family spelled their
name as Colmon. Where did you get your spelling? I never see either of those
spellings. Nice to see someone maybe close to the spelling of my family.

Obituary from the Wayne County Pennsylvania Herald Feb 1, 1900 , Mrs. Sarah
(NAUGHTON) COLEMAN died at her home in this town (Honesdale) on Tuesday Jan 30,
1900 aged 90 years. She is survived by her son, John COLEMAN, a merchant, of
Main St., and her daughter, Mrs. Timothy O'CONNELL of Second St. Her
husband, David COLEMAN, died here many years ago (1866). The couple immigrated from
Ireland (County Mayo) somewhere in the early 50's and resided here until they
died. Mrs. COLEMAN was a very estimable woman in every way.
Note: Sarah NAUGHTON COLEMAN parents were John and Mary BROWN NAUGHTON from
County Mayo/Sligo. Sarah and David COLEMAN children were Mary, Patrick and John
all born in Co Mayo 1840-1846 probably in the Coolcran, Friarstown area of
Kilbefad Parish Co Mayo.

Dear COLEMAN, MASCALL/MASKILL, DISKINS, NORTON, WATSON, SULLIVAN, PARTRIDGE,
DONIPHAN, KELLY, JENNINGS, BAKER, WILLOUGHBY, PAYNE, ROBINSON, EDRINGTON,
WOOLF, DUNCAN, LAMKIN/LAMPKIN, and EARLE lists,
Re: 1600s families in Old Rappahannock/Richmond Counties, Virginia, (and
connecting to the COLEMAN of Mobjack Bay,) that were later, with my branch, in
the area of Spartanburg District/Old 96th District, South Carolina during the
Revolutionary War and then went into and settled the area that became
Christian/Caldwell Counties, Kentucky before they went through AL/MS Territory and into
areas of Covington County, MS and later Simpson Co., MS before in the 1920s
with my branch into West Carroll Parish, LA and then later some into Texas.
(This is a very lengthy email regarding lines that repeatedly connect over
the centuries. Some of these surnames may only have one brief mention of that
individual bearing that surname as that is all I have on them, so far, and
would be most grateful for any help regarding any of these individuals shown
below. But there are so very many overall connections between the majority of
these families that I fear missing something important so I am sending this to all
of these lists.
At the bottom of my information is some info on the Samuel BAKER and Susannah
LAMPKIN family that went into Kentucky with the (Rev.) Fielding WOOLF and
DUNCAN families that were married into my JENNINGS family that descends from many
of these surnames above and at the very end of this email from me I have
included information about this BAKER family in KY to see if anyone knows whether
they connect with the Lawrence BAKER mentioned herein who married Mrs.
Penelope "Nelly" NORTON KELLY, widow of Matthew KELLY, Sr.. And while there is not
much mention of the LAMKIN/LAMPKIN family group in this particular email; I
have other descent from LAMKIN/LAMPKIN through 1600s Northumberland County, VA
through George LAMKIN/LAMPKIN, (1st husband,) and wife, Hannah COX, (poss. d/o
Vincent COX,) who married 2nd husband, Dr. Samuel DEMOURVILLE, and from the
LAMKIN and COX I descend in my HATTEN/HATTON lineage also out of 1600s VA in
Jamestown and Norfolk County.)
My name is Bellinda MYRICK-BARNETT and I have recently found new information
for a possible 3rd line of COLEMAN descent, (while still trying to find
something on the 1st and 2nd to prove them with 1 being a connection between the
Rachael TUCKER that married Ripley COPELAND, Sr., (RS,) of NC & SC.)
Please continue reading and I look forward to hearing from you either on one
of the lists or directly at BellindaMBarnett(a)aol.com
In advance, I thank you for any assistance, as well as, if you should see any
glaring errors or have any additional information, please do not hesitate to
let me know.
Today I am, specifically, searching for information on newly revealed
information regarding my paternal 10th great grandparents who were Cornelius
S(W)IL(L)IVO/AN(T)/ aka SWEL(L)IVAN(T)/SULLIVAN who was an immigrant to Old
Rappahannock County, Virginia and many other spellings including OSHEELIVAN(T) and
his wife, ? COLEMAN, who was a sister of Margaret COLEMAN, (who married Daniel
DISKINS,) and they were the daughters of Margaret MASCELL/MASKILL and Richard
COLEMAN whom is, apparently, in some way related to Robert COLEMAN of Mobjack
Bay, VA.
Margaret S(W)I/UL(L)IVA/ON(T)/ aka OSHEELIVAN, apparently, married Patrick
NORTON, based on information from the will of her father, Cornelius
S(W)I/UL(L)IVA/ON(T)/ aka OSHEELIVAN, who left considerable amounts of land to Patrick
NORTON's son, Thomas NORTON, which would then go to Patrick upon Thomas' death.
And Patrick and Margaret also had a daughter named Penelope "Nelly" NORTON. I
don't think they had other children but not positive of that.
Penelope "Nelly" NORTON who married 1st husband, Matthew KELLY, Sr. from whom
I descend through their son, (Captain) John KELLY who married Amy DONIPHAN,
(daughter of (Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN, Sr. and his 1st wife, Aimee
PARTRIDGE, (sister of Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, and Samuel, (all immigrants but no info
yet on parents,) and DONIPHAN later married 2nd wife, Margaret MOTT and 3rd
wife, Susannah ?/SMITH?.) I am, also, interested in the parents of Lawrence
BAKER and whether he was previously married as well as children that he had with
that wife and, also, with Mrs. Penelope "Nelly" NORTON KELLY.

I am trying to find my paternal grandmother, Annie Coleman.
Annie Coleman was born 1879 in Missouri, according to 1900 census,
Nelson twp., Clay Co., AR
The 1900 census, which usually lists month of birth, has left a blank
spot for Annie Coleman's birth month but does say 1879 for the birth year.
She is also in the 1910 census, Nelson twp., Clay Co., AR. Birth year
is given as 1879.
I am told Annie's Coleman family was from around Potosi, Mo. and that it
was a big family of cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.
One of her granddaughters is named Fannie and not having any luck
finding my Annie Coleman, I decided to look for a Fannie, thinking Annie
might be short for Fannie.
The old handwriting is hard to read, but I found a possible match for my
Annie, based on year of birth.
Kingston twp., Washington Co., MO - 1880 census
All below have last name of COLEMAN
Cipian, white, male, age 24, farmer, b MO
Julia, white female, age 22, wife, keeping house, b MO
Edward F, white, male, age 2, son, b MO
Fanny, white, female, age 7/12 b Nov., [1879], Daughter, b MO
Does anyone know anything about the above family?
My Annie Coleman was living in Reyno, Randolph Co., when she married
John Icenogle, 1895, Corning, Clay Co., AR. at the age of 17, which
again gives an approximate birth year of 1879.
Annie [Coleman] Icenogle died about 1918 and her husband, John
Icenogle, is widowed by 1920, living in Ripley Co., Mo.
Thank you,
Cathy Barnes

Looking for information/connections on COLEMAN lines from County Mayo
especially townlands of Coolcran and Friarstown. My direct maternal line has one line
of COLEMAN marrying into another COLEMAN line and as u can imagine I am
having one heck of a time trying to sort out the various COLEMAN lines. I am
frustrated in trying to get over this brickwall.
Now trying to sort out the COLEMAN line for David COLEMAN c 1808-1866 who
married Sarah NAUGHTON c 1808-1900. They were married c 1840 probably in
Kilbelfad parish. I believe David's father was John COLEMAN; Sarah's parents were John
and Mary BROWN NAUGHTON. They were blessed with at least 3 children Mary c
1840, Patrick c 1843 and John Francis c 1846. The children were all born in
Ireland. David and Sarah NAUGHTON COLEMAN immigrated to Honesdale, Wayne Co PA c
1846-1853.
Please contact me at wsullivw(a)aol.com. Thank u in advance.
Looking for information/connections David COLEMAN c 1810 m Sarah NAUGHTON c
Feb 1808 both born in County Mayo. Good possibility David COLEMAN is from the
townlands of Coolcran, Friarstown in the Ballina area County Mayo. David's
father may be John COLEMAN. Sarah's parents John NAUGHTON and Mary BROWN.
David and Sarah NAUGHTON COLEMAN had at least 3 children all born in Ireland;
Mary COLEMAN c 1840 married Timothy O'CONNELL c 1834 County Cork in
Honesdale, Wayne County Pennsylvania. Patrick COLEMAN c 1843 m Ellen MURTHA c 1850 in
Honesdale, PA; John COLEMAN c 1846 m Margaret KNIGHT c 1857 also in Honesdale,
PA; John COLEMAN and Margaret KNIGHT were both from Coolcran, Kilbefad Parish,
