My name is John Coleman. John Joseph Coleman was born in Massachusetts in
1865 (per US 1920 census which listed both of his parents as from Ireland). The
birth year is somewhat "in question" as I have seen it listed otherwise. John
Joseph was a watch and toy maker with his own shop in the greater Chicago
area. He married Mary A Fitzpatrick in Kane County, IL in 1892. They had 3
children: John J, Frances, and Clement Clark(my grandfather). John Joseph, per
family memory only, may have had at least one sibling nicknamed "Kitty". Anyway,
I have scrounged for any and all information and am at a total impass
currently. Hope this may be a link for you and if you think that this may be one of
your relatives, I would love any information regarding siblings and previous
generations you may have. Kind regards, John Coleman
I am looking to find a family of Colemans who migrated from VA to
Davidson/Robertson Co, TN (Nashville area) by 1834.
Specifically, I am trying to find information about my ancestor, Christian
Coleman, b VA abt 1809, who married Elizabeth Adcock in 1834 in Robertosn
Co, TN.
I am considering the possibility that this Christian Coleman could be a
descendant of Samuel Coleman and Ann Mourning Christian.
I appreciate any help or information you might have to share.
Thanks!
Sherri

Dorothy,
I am interested in your family, my gr grandfather William Samuel b. 1848
Flat Creek Bedford CO TN had a half brother named Fine and used the name for
one of his son's.. I don't think my family ever used a name that wasn't in
honor of family or friend. My family has been and still is hard to trace. I
do know they sure did wander about alot. Also I have a lot of J names in
this family back to abt. 1770 in VA to TN to TX.

I have been searching for quite a while for information concerning my
husband's family. His name is Bill Curtis Coleman b. 1839 in Florida. His father
Curtis H. Coleman b. 1909 in Lee County, Florida. His father is the
puzzler...James J. Coleman b. Nov. 1860 in Dooly, Georgia. He married Judith Howard in
June of 1898 in Buckingham, Lee, Florida. He was known as J. J. Coleman, Jack
Coleman and James J. Coleman and perhaps Jackson Coleman. In the 1880 census
for Dooly, Georgia...there is a J. J. Coleman, age 19, b. in Georgia,
occupation laborer, his parents born in Georgia. Listed with him is Wm. R. Hobby, age
3, birthplace Georgia. Another family of Colemans in the 1880 census for Dooly
Co: T. C. Coleman...has a Jacksen Coleman, age 18, b. Georgia, occupation
laborer. I have not been able to find any other collaborating information. Would
appreciate any suggestions.

The Daniel Coleman that married Polly Durham and lived in Casey Co., Ky., I can not prove who his parent's were (BUT). Several people have published books having to do with the Coleman family. The ones saying that Daniel is son of Samuel & Millie Coleman are WRONG. The ones saying that Stephen & Mary Coleman are WRONG. I've spent the past 2.5 yrs. a lot of gas, motels, hired people to do some foot work, rooted through fields looking for gravestones, clerks offices, libraries, long-distance phone calling, no need to go on about that. I've got proof about a Daniel belonging to the Stephen & Mary Coleman, pictures of his gravestones, foundation of his home, his well, distance between his house and home of Stephen & Mary Coleman, and rebuilt the Stephen Coleman family cemetery last summer. One of our genealogist that published a book on the Coleman family didn't know that Samuel & Millie Coleman moved from Casey Co., Ky. and died in Todd Co., Ky. They are buried on a farm near !
Elkton, Ky., and has the Casey Co. Daniel bring the son of Samuel & Millie Coleman. I wish some of these people having information posted on their web-sits & all these dot-coms, would get it CORRECT and give their source of information so one could verify it for them selves. There's so much junk that's incorrect, on some of these sites, it's a joke.
If there be anyone out there that can help me with the parents of the Casey Co., Ky. Daniel Coleman I would be very grateful. Will share everything I have with anyone that can prove the parents' of Daniel Coleman of Casey Co., Ky.
