Does anyone have access or information about the "Coleman World Newsletters"
by Fred Field of Fullerton, CA? I have been made aware of this publication
and its having contained a reference to Nicholas Kuhlman (Coleman) during its
publication time. I am interested in hearing about the family of this man
and his siblings in pursuit of Philip Coleman, b. ca 1777, moved to Warren
Co., OH, then Perry Co., OH. His son Philip, b. 1807 is my line. Thank you.

Hello to all Listers,
I am still seeking the family of this man listed above. He came to this area
from Germany according to one source I read recently. I want to know if he
had a son, Philip, b. ca. 1777 whose line is mine. He may have immigrated
with his father from Germany as a child. Anyone have a handle on this line?

Re the Coleman-Tucker lines: I haven't done much work on the
Coleman-Tucker
lines of Amelia Co.,VA, but they do exist. Frances Coleman, daughter of
Wm.
& Faith Coleman of Amelia Co., married Robert Tucker Jr. Among their
children is a Rachel Tucker, but I don't have birth dates etc., other
than
that Frances and Robert both died about 1768/9. Some of the Amelia Co.
Coleman legal papers found( deeds etc) include some Tucker's as
witnesses...more often than not. I'm a descendant of one of Frances
Coleman's
older brothers. She was an only daughter.

I contains Tucker information. If you need this let me know.

Hello,
Several times now I have seen marriages and other family relationships that
connect the surnames of BRIGHT - PARKER - JENNINGS....some while in England
in the 1500's, some in the 1600's and 1700's in VA and MD and in further
migration including Jones Co., MS in the late 1800's.
My great grandmother was Rachael Moranda "Randa/Randy" LEWIS, born: abt.
1851, daughter of Harriet ELLZEY, (thought to be the daughter of Mary
COLLINS? and Evan ELLZEY,) and John LEWIS, born: abt./ 1820 in Jones Co., MS,
son of Howell LEWIS, born: bet. 1782 - 1788 in Granville Co., NC and his
wife, Nancy COPELAND, daughter of Rachael TUCKER and Ripley COPELAND) who
married under the name of Moranda COLEMAN, (unsure as to why the name
COLEMAN... stepfather?/another husband?) to husband: Wesley BRIGHT and then
to husband: Spencer B. PARKER. One of Moranda and Wesley's daughter's
married a brother of Spencer and Spencer's mother was Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS,
born: 1821 in Covington Co., MS, and Jerimiah "Jerry" PARKER, born: 1795 in
Maryland. Jerry PARKER, 26 years older than his 2nd wife, was previously
married but I do not know her name, they had 3 children and the firstborn son
was named Jacob PARKER.
The Rachael TUCKER appears, at this time, to be descended from COLEMAN -
TUCKER lineage and there are COLEMAN connections many times in the LEWIS and
COPELAND lineage as well as in other connecting lines.
I have come to believe that there may be a connection between these BRIGHT -
PARKER - JENNINGS and other families that go back to England in the 1500's
and 1600's before they came to America in the early 1600's as did the
ancestors of the above mentioned Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS whose mother was
Kitty EARLE who is the daughter of Tabitha WILLIAMS, born: 1766 in Fauquier
Co., VA, (daughter of Catherine "Caty" ? and George WILLIAMS,) Samuel EARLE,
IV, (Sgt./Rev.War,) born: 1760 in Fauquier Co., VA who descends from (Sir)
Richard EARLE thru (Sir) John EARLE and Mary SYMONDS, thru Samuel EARLE I and
Bridget HALE, Samuel EARLE, II and Phillis BENNETT, (daughter of John
BENNETT,) Samuel EARLE, III and 2nd wife: Elizabeth HOLBROOK/HOLDBROOK, &
Samuel EARLE, IV, with this Samuel EARLE, IV being the (Sgt./Rev. War) that
was born in 1760 in Fauquier Co., VA and he was the 2nd son named Samuel, IV,
born to his father, Samuel, III who with his 1st wife, Anna SORRELLS, had a
son named Samuel EARLE, IV, born: 1727, and then with his 2nd wife:
Elizabeth HOLBROOK, had my 4th great grandfather, Samuel EARLE, IV,
(Sgt./Rev. War,) born: 1760 in Fauquier Co., VA.
There are probably additional connections between the BRIGHT - PARKER -
JENNINGS - LEWIS - EARLE - COPELAND - COLEMAN families.
I am very interested in finding the missing pieces that will connect some of
this information for myself and a lot of others researching these lines. If
you can help in any way we would be most grateful.
In advance, I thank you very much.
Sincerley,
Bellinda Myrick - Barnett
I wonder if anyone knows of a connection with the Scott name in VA...latter
part of 1700s...?
I have WILLIAM COLEMAN SCOTT, b.c1770-90, Prince Edward Co VA., he married
Paulina Daniels, before 1812. He was the son of Maj. THOMAS SCOTT & SARAH
EMBRA.

To all My Coleman researchers;
I have a number of your queries on file to answer and will!
My wife and I are preparing for a three week vacation/50th Anniversary
to
the North country. We will be gone until the end of Sept. Please wait a
bit. I will
answer all and send some lists of Census and Wills/abstracts or locations
and
early Ohio marriages that II have collected over the years as soon as we
get back.
I hope(!!) in Pierce co. WI I will find an obit or other record of my
Hannah Hall Coleman
Buck who died there. TTY L, Jess.
I recently was able to acquire a book on my Harman family which is priceless
to me, at the following location which someone on another list had
mentioned. I just went there to do a search for my Coleman family and did
not find them, but found quite a few others.I wanted to share them with you
in case these are your lines. This just a few of the 30 or so Coleman
related books they are offering from various booksellers.
It has a search function also for other books. It is not necessarily a
genealogy site, but could be an important find for you.

Hello,
I am looking to find which COLEMAN families were in the counties of Jones,
Covington and or Simpson, MS as my great grandmother, Rachael Moranda
"Randa/Randy" LEWIS, born: abt. 1851 in Jones Co., MS, who was the daughter
of Harriett ELLZEY, born: abt. 1824, (mother: poss. Mary COLLINS, father:
Evan ELLZEY,) and John LEWIS, born: abt. 1820 in Jones Co., MS, and, for
some reason, at the time Rachael Moranda "Randa/Randy" LEWIS married her two
husbands, Wesley BRIGHT and Spencer B. PARKER, born: 1859, she married under
the name of Moranda COLEMAN.
Spencer B. PARKER, born: 1859 was the son of Jerimiah "Jerry" PARKER, born:
1795 in Maryland, (1st wife: ??,) and his 2nd wife: Sarah "Sally" JENNINGS,
born: 1821 in Covington Co., MS, (daughter of Bailey JENNINGS, born: abt.
1789 in VA, and wife: Kitty EARLE, (md. 1811 in Christian Co., KY, moved to
Caldwell Co., KY, and then MS,) (daughter of Tabitha WILLIAMS and Samuel
EARLE, IV, (Sgt./Rev.War,) born: 1760 in Fauquier Co., VA, 2nd son named
Samuel, IV, of father: Samuel EARLE, III, (Major,) and his 2nd wife:
Elizabeth HOLBROOK, daughter of Jannet PATTISON (1st husb. CONYERS,) and her
2nd husband: Randolph "Randall" HOLBROOK.
There must have been a stepfather or another husband that was named COLEMAN
and, most likely, he was from the Jones, Covington or Simpson Co., MS areas.
Spencer B. PARKER and Rachael Moranda LEWIS COLEMAN BRIGHT PARKER were
parents of my grandmother, Allie Artimissa PARKER, born: 1892 in Simpson
Co., MS and her brothers, (twin brother,) Callie PARKER, (died age 2 yrs,)
Ellis Neely PARKER, and George Washington PARKER, (died age 12 yrs.) Their
half-brother and sisters from the LEWIS/COLEMAN - BRIGHT marriage were Henry
"Will" BRIGHT, (died abt. age 29 yrs, md. a JONES,) Daisy BRIGHT, (md. ?,)
Harriett Almeda "Mead" BRIGHT, (md. PARKER, bro. of Spencer,) and Maggie/Mag
BRIGHT who md. a MANGUM.
The above mentioned John LEWIS, born: abt. 1820 was the son of Howell LEWIS,
born: bet. 1782 - 1788 in Granville Co., NC. So far it appears that the most
likely candidates for his parents are the Betsy COLEMAN, (poss.
Elizabeth/Mary COLEMAN,) father said to be named Robert COLEMAN, who married
Howell LEWIS, II, born: 1759, died: abt. 1790, (son of Mary Isabella WILLIS
and Howell LEWIS, I, born: 1731, died: 1813 in Granville Co., NC, son of
Mary HOWELL and Charles (Of the Byrd,) LEWIS, (Col.) ) and Howell LEWIS, II,
md: abt. 1780 to Betsy COLEMAN who then, apparently, married Edmund
TAYLOR......but I am still trying to put all of this together. Most people
do not show children for Betsy COLEMAN and Howell LEWIS, II....but I don't
know if this is speculation or totally proven that they didn't have
children.....and there are some researchers that believe that my 3rd great
grandfather, Howell LEWIS, born: bet. 1782 - 1788 in Granville Co., NC, is
descended from the related lineage of Robert (Of Belvoir) LEWIS but nothing
is clear enough yet to know.
My family lines weave in and out of other COLEMAN family groups of which some
or all may or may not be part of the same COLEMAN line.
From my mother's side of the family one of my ancestral grandmothers was
Elizabeth COLEMAN, born: abt. 1657 in Charles City Co., VA, daughter of
Robert COLEMAN, that married Robert TUCKER. I descend through their son,
Joseph TUCKER, born: 1688 in Charles City Co., VA, and his wife: Martha
COLESON, (daughter of Isaac COLESON,) through their child, Joseph Tudor
TUCKER, Jr., born: October 28, 1707, who married Lucretia WYNNE, daughter of
Colonel Robert WYNNE and his wife, Martha JEFFERSON, daughter of Martha
BRANCH, (daughter of Christopher BRANCH,) and Thomas (1) JEFFERSON, (great
grandparents of Thomas (3) JEFFERSON, (President.)
Also, I have a Rachael TUCKER, born: 1762, who married Ripley COPELAND,
(Rev.War,) who may, possibly, be a daughter or granddaughter of Sarah OLD,
(parents: ??,) and John TUCKER, Sr., born: abt. 1712 in Prince George Co.,
VA, died: 1769 in Amelia Co., VA, and md. Sarah OLD in 1733 in VA. I don't
know what age Sarah OLD was when she and John TUCKER married so it is hard to
tell any more about this possible relationship. They, apparently, had a
daughter named Rachael TUCKER but I don't show a date for her birth. John
TUCKER was the son of Elizabeth PARHAM, (parents: ??,) and Captain Robert
TUCKER, born: abt. 1676 in Charles City Co., VA, died: 26 Sep 1744 in Amelia
Co., VA, son of the above mentioned Elizabeth COLEMAN, (daughter of Robert
COLEMAN,) and husband, Robert TUCKER, born: abt. 1652 in Charles City Co.,
VA, died: abt. 1704.
And, there are two more COLEMAN connections in my family that I am trying to
find info regarding.....one is the possible connection of the Betsy (poss.
Elizabeth?/Mary?) COLEMAN, (daughter of Robert COLEMAN) that married Howell
LEWIS, born: 1759, which was mentioned above.
Also, there is a Sarah COLEMAN who married my 2nd great grandfather, Isom
Daniel HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, (Confed.Sold./Civil War,) born: Dec 1828 in
Covington or Lawrence Co., MS. Sarah COLEMAN had two daughters named Viola
and Ada COLEMAN who married a man named FARMER. Viola had another first
name....Viola was, apparently, her middle name. Sarah COLEMAN and Isom
married after my 2nd great grandmother, Rebecca Jane DICKSON died.
The above mentioned Isom Daniel HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON and Rebecca Jane
DICKSON were the parents of Harriet Katherine "Hattie" HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON,
born: 1868, who married her 3rd cousin, once removed, Calvin Pierce "Callie"
MYRICK, born: 1858 in MS, son of Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON, born: bet.
1834 - 1836, daughter of William H. "Bill/Billy" MYRICK, born: abt. 1827 in
Jasper Co., MS, son of Elizabeth PIERCE, born: 1790 in SC, (parents: ??)
and William MYRICK, born: sometime bef. 1790 in ?, possibly Georgia?,
(parents: ??)
Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON was the daughter of William HERRINGTON, Jr.,

More information about the Texas Colemans about where and when,I will look
if close to my area. Also I am looking 1780 -1880 dates for information on
Colemans and Byrd families from the eastern southern states to TN to TX and
any states in between. I have limited information from Flat Creek, Bedford
CO. TN about Joshua Coleman b. 1823 TN wife #1 Sarah Ann { Sallie} Byrd b.
1826 TN #2 wife Jane Floyd Bearden b. 1818 TN. I have information on all of
their children then but not up todate. I know when a son from his 1st
marriage, William Samuel Coleman moved by wagon train with the Boones to the
Tarrant county area and then to Parker county there were relatives of his
in Johnson CO but like my luck has been with the Colemans there is no paper
trail to connect. Bedford CO lost records repeatedly to fire and Johnson CO.
had their share of fire lost. I live in Johnson CO. one hour south of where
the Coleman and Boone families settled.
Great great granddaughter of Joshua and Sallie,
Alicia
Hi Everybody! Lots of new lines have come in lately for the supplement to
my book "The Coleman Family of Mobjack Bay, VA". Thank you all so much!
Now I'm making a special appeal for descendants of Robert Morris Coleman
whose wife was Elizabeth Bounds. They both died in Texas, Robert by
drowning and Elizabeth by an Indian attack.
Also, does anyone have a copy of the will of Thomas Coleman who died in
Richmond Co. VA in 1810?
