In the Elbert County Georgia Marriage listings, 1805-1913, I find the following:
James Coleman married to Polly Elder, 3/31/1824
Book L16, p. 487
Does anyone on this list know anything about either of these people?
Thanks and Regards,

My name is James, my wife Teresa joined lots of email lists & I know she's
made several friends through them. She wants me to write to each and everyone
of you to let you know it will be awhile before shes able to get back online.
I don't know who to write to so I'm sending it to everyone in her address
book. She fell over a week ago and injured her spine, now shes battling the
flu. Said to say shes alright and will back as soon as she can and's sorry
for not getting back to all of you who have wrote her. Hope I reached all her
friends and family out there. Teresa said to send her best to all of you.

I wish I could say I found the missing James Coleman from Abbeville, but all
I can give are "hunches". My Coleman family moved to Old 96 District in the
1760's. The administrative papers for the father's estate (Robert) are in the
Abbeville court house papers. We've never found what we consider a true
listing of all the children, but know the following to be OK: Lucy who m.
Thomas Draper, Frances who m. Zacharias Gibbs, Christopher who married, had a
flock of children, but died intestate, Faith, who m. Randolph Harmes,
possibly 2 more brothers ...Robert and Abner.
This family came from Amelia Co., VA through Lunenburg/Mecklenburg VA(1754
-1768) before their land grant in SC.

Even though this is not Coleman related, I felt that our fellow
researchers would find this article interesting. In Sunday's (Nov.
26th) Washington Post (Style section) there is a story by Ken Ringle
titled "Bringing Them Home". It's a World War II story. Read it and
discover another important role of genealogy. On the Internet go to:

Linda, I am researching my GGG Grandfather, James Coleman. He is found earliest
in the 1840 US Census for Henry County, GA, about 39 or 40 years of age. His
place of birth is unknown to me, but by hunches are leading me to either
Wilkes/Elbert Co. GA, or to South Carolina.
I do not know who his parents were, but I thought I would drop this your way
just in case you know more about your James Coleman (children) that might shed
light on a possible connection.

Hi List,
Searching for the children of James Thomas COLEMAN born Dec 1, 1849 and
Charity Elizabeth WILLIAMS, daughter of Thomas C. WILLIAMS and Mary
Lourene LANDRUM. In James' obituary from the Kinmundy Express
Newspaper, (Marion County, Illinois) May 21, 1936 it states they had 5
children. Anyone know out there researching this family? Thank you, any
help will be greatly appreciated.
Researching: WILLIAMS, LANDRUM, COLEMAN, BOCZKIEWICZ, HANNA and PHELPS
Does anyone know anything about James COLEMAN whose estate was administered 21 Dec. 1829 in the Abbeville district of South Carolina? He left a widow, Nancy, whose brothers were William and Richard M. White. Any information concerning these people would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Linda Coleman
Due to changes in my server I am having to change my e-mail address.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 20th I will begin using a hotmail address. From
that date on, please send me email at this address:

I'm looking for info on the children of the above individuals (who never
married) of Pike County, KY. Their children were Lydia Angeline COLEMAN (b.
30 Dec 1870), Daniel Boone COLEMAN (b. ca 1873) and Hayes COLEMAN (b. ca
1876).
I have the spouse, children and dates for Lydia, but not for her brothers.
Searches on Ancestry.com provided the following. Does anyone know if this
Hayes is the son of Daniel B.?
Hayes Coleman, died 19 Mar 1912 in Pike Co KY at age 29
Hayes Coleman, died 24 Jan 1979 in Pike Co Ky at age 72 (son of Hayes above??)
If anyone is familiar with these brothers, Daniel and Hayes Coleman, and can
provide names of spouses or any other info it would be greatly appreciated.
I am also looking for info on Pauline's other children. I cannot locate these
children or their mother (as an adult) in any census or other records. She
supposedly worked in a "boarding house", possibly around Pike KY, Buchanan Va
or McDowell WV.
