Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
These are from the 1880 census at this web site: http://www.genealogy.org/.
I hope it helps somebody. I was searching in vain for James, Buce, Chapman,
and Estes (my most illusive ancestors). I am still looking for Levena
COLEMAN who married John J. English in Washington County, GA in 1830.

Hi Group!
I am new on this list and would like to find my Most Wanted COLEMAN.
Levina COLEMAN married John J. ENGLISH on 3 February 1830 in
Washington County, Georgia.
She apparently died about in 1847 or 1848 in Alabama. In the 1850 Coffee
County, Alabama census, John J. is listed with children ranging in age from
17 down to 3, but there is no wife listed - so she must have died sometime
between the youngest child's birth in 1847 and the time of the census in
1850. We do not know where she is buried but the cemetery where most of the
Englishes are buried in Coffee County, AL has some unmarked graves and
broken headstones.
Her children's names were:
Sampson English
James Wilke English (my great-grandfather) m. Charlottie Davis
Martha A. Celia English (married #1 Evan Brooks, #2 Isaac Odom)
William English
Elizabeth English
Fanny F. English
Mary English
I have been unable to find her in NC, SC, GA, or AL with any Coleman family.
Anyone know the name?
Any suggestions about how to find her?
Thank you.
Linda English

I am researching an ABRAHAM COLEMAN who was born apx 1750s in either Lancaster
or York counties PA. He was married to an Abigail ? (perhaps Abigail Worley).
They left PA and moved on to Wheeling, Ohio Co., VA before1810 and from there
to Ross Co., OH, and then Franklin Co., OH. In Franklin Co., OH, Abraham was
licensed to keep a tavern in Hamilton Twp. Abraham died at Hamilton Twp.,
Franklin Co., OH in 1824. They had a large family and I only have names of
four sons: Thomas, Daniel, Abraham, Jr., and James. I have also found the
name spelled Colman and Coalman. THANKS

Fellow Va Researchers:
The following appeared on the Marshall List this morning. It refers to online
index for the "Virginia Star, Fredericksburg Star & The Daily Star 1877-1926".
Since my folk had hightailed it out of VA much earlier, the last in the 1830s,
I haven't accessed it, but I hope there is something here for some of you.

My ancestors came from Germany in 1853 and were named Kohlmann. My great
great grandfather was named Reiner Kohlmann and settled in the central
Illinois area after emigrating through New Orleans on the ship, The Rose.
I will look at some papers which my uncle put together to see if there is a
Werner Kohlmann in the families he found in his german research.
