Hello,
I am curious to know whether anyone has identified an Edith Coleman living
in the early 1700s in North Carolina. I am looking for a Coleman daughter
who married a Nichols, most likely William Nichols. William Nichols appears
to have been the father of Coleman Nichols, born before 1737, and he also
had a daughter named Edith. I have learned there may be a Coleman will (I
have not seen the will, so have no further information about it)that
identifies a daughter named Edith from this time period. The coincidence of
names makes me curious to see if there is a connection.
I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone regarding the existence of
Edith and any linkage to the Nichols family from this time period. I do not
have access to the book on Robert Coleman's descendants. If anyone can do a
look up in the book, please contact me directly at the address listed below.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hi to all,
Can anyone help me find the ancestors of:
NANCY COLEMAN, b. 28 Dec 1796, d. 28 Sep 1875, (married to ABSALOM WARD
27 Sep 1820). All of this in Union Co, SC. The Union Co Heritage
History book shows her parents as ROBERT COLEMAN (c 1760-18 June 1823)
and ELIZABETH "TREACY" ____?____.
I would be most grateful for whatever help you can provide!
Regards,
Carolyn Carter Johnson (email to: rhunterg(a)ix.netcom.com)
My gggrandmother, JERUSHA COLEMAN, born circa 1800 married Daniel Matthews
II in Liverpool, Nova Scotia in 29 October 1818. I am trying to find the
connection to the COLEMANs of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
I have found in the Nova Scotia archives that JOHN COLEMAN of Nantucket
went to Barrington, Nova Scotia in 1762 and the census of 1770 showed a
JOHN COLMAN in Granville, N.S. with a wife and two children.
Could anyone help with the connection between JERUSHA and JOHN COLEMAN?

Morning all!
OK...I got onto Wes' site...and tried (four times) for a download of
the document. (This appears, by the title..."Some Desc...."
to be the work of George Harrison Sanford King.)
Anyway...I can only get two (2) of the four (4) files.
Some one tell me WHAT is going on!
Susy
Sure,
I keep mentioning this but new folks keep asking
about it. I have researched Colemans from Virginia
through North and South Carolina in 1775 to North
Hamilton County Tennessee around 1820. I have
info from my GEDCOM published on my web site
plus lots of Web links plus two books all on my web
page. One of the books is a link to the Mobley site
where J. P. Coleman's book is actually located. But
I provide the second book (a manuscript I typed in
from a copy I made in a library), titled "Some
Descendants of Robert Coleman of Gloucester
County Virginia." If anyone knows the source or
author of this rather antique manuscript, speak up
as I do not have that information.
Wes (also doing work under my spouse's byline)

This book was published in 1965, if memory serves. I doubt it can be ordered.
The original I saw was hard bound blue book at the William Clayton branch of
the Houston Public Library. Since it doesn't circulate, the only way to get a
copy is for someone to stand at the copy machine. Actually, since the text is
available off the web, all you really need copied are the pages with pictures.
Which is considerably less than the 500 or so pages total.
Good luck.

Cheryl,
I have a Daniel Coleman from Pike County, KY,
b. 1787 d. 1870. He is brother to my Peter
Coleman Jr.
My records show he is listed in Deed books for Grayson
County, VA; Pike Co., KY tax lists, and in the
will of his father, Peter Sr.
I don't show a will for him in Pike County.
I show his wife as Sarah Kinder - different wife
or different Daniel??
Regards,
Nancy Bagby
Hi,
My children's ancestry is as follows, as best as I know it:
Childrens father: Ronald Reed
Ronald's mother and father: Billie Louise Scott and John William Reed,
Jr. John most likely born in or around Gillette, Wyoming, 1910-1925?
I would like this line also.
Billie's mother: Edith Coleman, and Edith's sister was Glada or Gladys
Coleman, I believe it was Glada, but not possitive.
I would like to find Edith's ancestors. I believe they would have been
in Nebraska, Wyoming, or one of the surrounding states.
Any clues? Billie and Glada are both deceased, and the family doesn't
speak to me because of the divorce. I would like to provide my children
with a written heritage.
Lady Mary
