Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Folks, I have made a major change/addition to my web site which
hopefully will make it more user friendly, or at least will begin to
move it in that direction for Coleman family searchers. Let me explain.
When you go to my page located at http://www.dkco.com/gen/gendex.html
and you see the grey bar a little way down with the name "COLEMAN' on
it, click on it (the name). It used to bring up a little box with some
verbage in it. It no longer does. Now, it brings up a new page with
information specific to our James Coleman and family and the search for
information related to THIS family, going in both directions. I wanted
to point this out because there are some things here that I have worked
on for a long time to make sure I could get right for viewing purposes.
Though not ENTIRELY complete, I think I have it where it works and I
wanted some of you to tell me what you think of it. When you get to
this page, click on the link "Graphical Representation of this family"
and check that out. Let me know what you think of that. I had to do
all that by hand, and it's not all finished yet, but it is mostly done.
Anyway, there you go.
More later.

Well, it's been a while since anything has been posted to our little
list, so I thought I would post an update. I have been off doing some
other things, namely trying to get my real estate license, so I have not
been active in the family research endeavor. I took my state exam last
week and fell just short. Tomorrow I will take the exam again and try
to pass it this time. If I can pass it this time, I will get my license
and be in the business, and I will be relieved and have more time to
devote to family history.
I am going to be adding a new set of web pages devoted exclusively to
our Coleman family in coming days, which will lay out what we do know,
and what information we are needing to find out in order to lead us to
"the promised land", so to speak. My older brother, David, and I are
really desiring to go on a major push, possibly later this year, to find
out where James Coleman came from. This may well include our travelling
over to Georgia to do some research, God willing. We want to find out
if James in fact came from the group in Virginia, or what. Also, cousin
Vivian Westmoreland has hit upon a few possibilities in some of the
materials sent out some weeks ago that might shed some light upon James'
roots, and this needs to be further looked into. If any of you have
time and interest, post your interest here on the list and Vivian will
share her find here and ya'll can discuss here on the list and see what
comes of it. I will join in as soon as I get this real estate stuff
behind me.
More soon.
